Our work depends on Systems Administrator Expert joining our team to maintain and upgrade a high performance computing cluster in support of Navy laboratory customers.

WHAT YOU'LL NEED TO SUCCEED:
• Education: Bachelor's Computer Science or equivalent experience
• Required Experience: 5-10 years of related experience
• Required Technical Skills:

• Provision and manage a high performance computer (HPC) cluster of Linux servers on an enclaved network utilizing OpenHPC components – primarily warewulf system management and slurm workload manager
• Install and configure operating systems, firmware, software, and networking on HPC clusters both manually and using automation tools
• Perform server hardware maintenance and upgrades
• Troubleshoot and resolve HPC cluster issues working closely with on-site network administrators
• Coordinate with vendors to resolve hardware and software problems
• Monitor the health of the Linux servers through both automated and manual processes
• Provide clear and detailed feedback to stakeholders on gaps and improvement areas, specifically in the areas of simplification, stability, and operational efficiency
• Contribute to the creation and maintenance of operating procedures
• Document system administration procedures for routine and complex tasks
• Provide regular and well-communicated updates to stakeholders and users
• Mentor and assist less-experienced team members
• Stay up-to-date on the latest HPC technologies and best practices and work with stakeholders and users to implement
• Provide reliable and efficient backups/restores for all managed systems
• Provide 24-hour, 7-day on-call support and off-hours maintenance windows
• Maintain software repositories and apply software updates
• Maintain documentation for procedures, configurations, and programs

• Location: NSWCCD West Bethesda, MD, On Customer Site
