Our work depends on a Linux Systems Administrator to oversee system administration and support requirements for Military Sealift Command (MSC) fleet in Pensacola, FL.
HOW OUR LINUX SYSTEMS ADMINISTRATOR WILL MAKE AN IMPACT:

Perform System Synchronization of the local development VM’s
-
Assist with the delivery, patching and maintenance of test and operational RHEL systems.

Learn and implement new tools as they become relevant in the industry
-
Create and execute integration and system tests and document test procedures
-
Troubleshoot software system issues
-
Work as an effective team member across multiple disciplines (systems, networking, configuration management, & test engineering)
-
Work in a dynamic, fast paced, & sometimes pressured environment
WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO SUCCEED (Required):
-
Security Clearance Level: Secret clearance
-
Required Experience: 5+ years
-
Required Certifications: IAT Level II Certification. Obtain a Linux Operating System certification (Linux+, etc.) within 6 months from hire date.

Education: BA/BS Degree or experience in lieu of degree.
-
Required Technical Skills: Proficiency working in a Red Hat Linux Server environment.

Knowledge of industry practices, techniques and standards for Linux system administration and accreditation.

Experience applying DoD STIG checklists to Linux systems and ensuring compliance with DoD security mandates.
-
Experience writing scripts (examples: shell scripting, PERL, Python, etc.).

Solid understanding of networking technology, TCP/IP and common internet application protocols.

Excellent troubleshooting skills

Location: Onsite in Pensacola, FL.

The likely salary range for this position is $60,549 – $80,500. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
