Leidos Dynetics is seeking a passionate, detailed-oriented problem-solver to serve as a Lead Systems Engineer to support defense and civil space systems in the Space Division. With offices across the United States engaging in the defense, space, cyber and commercial fields, Dynetics provides responsive, cost-effective engineering, scientific and IT solutions.

Space Division projects include civil and defense space platforms efforts. As an integral member of the Space Division Systems Engineering and Integration (SE&I) Branch, the successful candidate will leverage digital engineering and systems engineering practices and tools, including CAMEO, to identify challenges and formulate candidate solutions within complex, lunar systems and programs. The systems engineer will coordinate lunar terrain vehicle (LTV) system engineering for prototype development and as-build configurations. This includes update and execution of Systems Engineering Management Plan (SEMP) defined processes including requirements definition, requirements updates, change requests, verification planning and execution, and acceptance testing. The systems engineer will work to apply systems engineering standard processes and best practices to workflows efficiently.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Manage System requirement application and updates from Task Order, Specifications and Test Plans
  • Support verification and traceability of deliverables back to System Requirements
  • Assist in development of verification plans and process improvements
  • Facilitate configuration management of the technical data package
  • Develop and maintain a clear understanding of overall system interdependencies and interfaces
  • Implement creative solutions to ensure program requirements are upheld
  • Identify, mitigate and resolve risks
  • Coordinating systems engineering with the customer
  • Perform other related job duties as required

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor Degree in Engineering from an ABET accredited institution with 12+ years or Master Degree with less than 10+ years applicable experience with a GPA of 3.0 or higher.
  • Familiarity with CAMEO
  • Experience with system level requirements
  • Detailed understanding of the top-down systems engineering process for architecture development and bottoms-up verification
  • Demonstrates solid understanding and intuition of the functionality and interdependency of complex physical systems
  • Experience applying systems engineering practices to support space programs with unique developmental constraints
  • Demonstrates solid understanding and intuition of the functionality and interdependency of aerospace systems
  • Demonstrated ability to work with the customer to clarify program challenges and/or system requirements
  • Ability to stay focused and succeed in dynamic and fast paced environments
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills and attention to detail
  • Organizational skills to document work and interface with team members to ensure flow of information

Candidate must be a US Citizen and possess (and be able to maintain) a Secret Clearance OR meet the eligibility to obtain (and maintain) a Secret Clearance.

Pay Range:

Pay Range $122,200.00 – $220,900.00
