Johnson Controls has an exciting opportunity for a Magnetic Bearing Control Systems Engineer! In this role, you will support the design, development, application engineering, optimization, manufacturing support and field support of active magnetic bearing (AMB) control systems. This position is onsite at our Salem, VA, plant. Candidates must be commuting distance, or able to relocate.
How you will do it
-
Develop AMB control system optimization settings across multiple client bases and rotating machinery types (compressors, motors, turbines, etc…).
-
Commissioning and field support of AMB systems, including initial setup, remote monitoring, and troubleshooting.
-
Perform rotordynamic analysis for new AMB-supported machinery.
-
Develop magnetic bearing controller (MBC) software release requirements and support software release testing.
-
Support MBC control algorithm development and control system architecture modifications.
-
Troubleshooting: able to investigate root causes across a wide range of engineering disciplines, including electrical, controls, mechanical, thermal, etc… and implement countermeasures
What you will need
