Are you a computer science or engineering professional with strong software programming skills?  Do you enjoy architecting, coding, and debugging software that solves complex technical challenges?  MathWorks has several great opportunities for engineers like you who want to develop expert-level software engineering skills using MATLAB, C++, JavaScript or other programming languages as a Software Engineer in Test.   

You will begin your MathWorks career by joining our Engineering Development Group where you will receive extensive product/technical training that aligns with your interests and gain hands-on experience working on real-world projects.  After your training is complete, you will join your target team as a Software Engineer in Test and work in exciting areas such as Technical Computing, Cloud Computing, Code Generation, Deep Learning, Machine LearningCompilers, Systems Modeling and Simulation, or other technical areas.

As a Software Engineer in Test, you will be an integral part of a cross-functional team of engineering professionals and you will contribute to software used by millions of scientists, engineersresearchers, and students around the world. You will develop innovative and efficient test automation and infrastructure to verify new features and qualify bug fixes. As an active member of the development organization, you will participate in projects from their early design stages and play a critical role in driving new features and products to final release.   

  • Sharpen and refine your software engineering skills as you define, design, and create world-class test automation solutions for complex systems. 

  • Leverage your programming knowledge and experience to influence requirements, system design and architecture for new features.  

  • Understand our product stack, services, and APIs to author comprehensive suites of functional and non-functional tests that result in early detection of bugs and provide extensive test coverage. 

  • Be the guardian of product quality for the projects your work on.  Represent our customers and make sure our software is fast, accurate and robust. 

  • Define and track quality metrics and key performance indicators to spearhead data driven efforts to improve test methodologies and ensure the reliability and efficiency of our test bed within our CI/CD environments. 

  • Experience with one or more Object Oriented programming languages (MATLAB, C++, etc.)
  • Relentless passion for solving problems. 
  • Strong communication skills, highly motivated and thrives in a fast-paced high-tech company.

Nice to have:  

  • Experience with MATLAB 
  • Test automation experience

  • A bachelor's degree and 5 years of professional work experience (or a master's degree, or equivalent experience) is required.
