Network Engineer

Overview

Network Engineer will develop and maintain functional and secure networks. Position requires excellent problem-solving skills and thorough knowledge of network administration and architecture.

Responsibilities:

Network Design and Implementation:

  • Design, implement, maintain and troubleshoot computer networks, including LANs, WANs, and wireless networks within Cisco switching and Meraki infrastructure.
  • Evaluate and recommend network technologies and solutions to meet organizational requirements.
  • Must demonstrate expert knowledge of Cisco Catalyst/Nexus switches, Meraki (MX, MS, MR) technologies infrastructure.
  • Preferred – some working knowledge of Palo Alto OS, Panorama, and Cisco ISE.

Voice Technologies:

  • Preferred – Implement and maintain security measures for WebEx Calling, ensuring compliance with relevant standards and policies.
  • Conduct security assessments and audits.

Troubleshooting and Support:

  • Diagnose and resolve network issues, including connectivity problems, hardware failures, and performance issues. Provide technical support to end-users and other IT staff.
  • Be able to effectively create and escalate issues with Cisco TAC Support (Cisco switches, Cisco ISE, Meraki Support)
  • Must demonstrate critical thinking abilities and to be able to identify Root Cause Analysis (RCA).

Network Monitoring and Optimization:

  • Monitor network performance and analyze network traffic to optimize and enhance overall system efficiency.
  • Collaborate with other cross functioning IT professionals to ensure the reliability and availability of network resources.

Documentation:

  • Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for network configurations, processes, and procedures.

Collaboration:

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including system administrators, software developers, and other IT professionals.

Upgrades and Maintenance:

  • Plan and execute network upgrades and maintenance activities to ensure the stability and scalability of the network infrastructure for Cisco switches, and Meraki infrastructure devices.

Qualifications:

  • 5 years of relevant experience in network engineering.
  • In-depth knowledge of networking protocols, technologies, and best practices. Experience with network security measures and protocols.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in network monitoring and management tools.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Relevant certifications such as Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) or equivalent.
  • Must be a US citizen

Work Environment:

  • This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.
  • Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.
  • No travel is expected for this position

Physical Requirements:

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear.
  • The employee frequently is required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms.
  • The employee is occasionally required to stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and move up to 50 pounds of office equipment.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

This position is at our Parsippany, NJ office location.
