We are currently seeking a Network Engineer to support a critical national security program at Fort Meade, Maryland, bolstering Air Force ISR operations.

Role Overview

As a Network Engineer, you will take charge of managing Local Area Networks (LAN) and Wide Area Networks (WAN). This includes planning, analysis, design, acquisition, implementation, and operational integrity of networked systems handling voice, data, and video transmission. You’ll not only design and monitor complex systems but also predict future needs by staying on the cutting edge of emerging technologies. Additionally, you’ll contribute to discussions, projects, and committees vital to ensuring the security of DoD networks.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage accounts, network storage, authentication servers, and user privileges across SIPRNET, NIPRNET, and other networks.

  • Maintain Site-wide C4I infrastructure, including cryptologic hardware, network fiber communications, and port configurations.

  • Create and maintain updated network maps, logical paths, and rekey network devices.

  • Support IT helpdesk needs, addressing user and network-related issues while ensuring domain integrity.

  • Provide multimedia, video teleconferencing (VTC), and audiovisual (AV) support for military, civilian, and contractor employees.

  • Implement security patches, perform restoration operations, contingency planning, and conduct malware investigations.

  • Plan and manage the installation of new or modified hardware, operating systems, and applications.

  • Resolve network and VoIP security and configuration issues while meeting compliance standards.

  • Conduct feasibility studies and in-depth analyses of network systems to solve novel problems and ensure mission readiness.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree and 7+ years of relevant experience (additional experience may substitute for a degree).

  • Active TS/SCI security clearance, with the ability to pass a polygraph.

  • Demonstrated expertise managing complex classified and unclassified networks.

  • Experience implementing TCNO patches and network security protocols.

  • Certifications: Information Assurance DOD 85701-M IAT Level II and CompTIA Security+.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Current Polygraph.

  • Proficiency with Cisco and Juniper hardware, SolarWinds, and Junos Space Network Management Platform.

  • Experience applying Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs) and deploying Cisco Identity Services Engine.

  • Expertise with VMware Component Protection (VMCP), PowerShell DHCP, and DoD networks.

  • Certifications: JNCIA-Junos, JNCIS-ENT, CCNA.

  • Knowledge of VoIP technologies and advanced troubleshooting techniques.

Pay Range:

Pay Range $89,700.00 – $162,150.00
