LOCATION: Versailles, KY
The Network Engineer performs a wide range of highly technical duties associated with the design, implementation and support of the Sheridan Infrastructure and related IT services to ensure 24/7 business continuity across multiple sites
The main duties of this job include, but are not limited to:
- Incorporate new technology concepts into the planning and implementation processes for the LAN/WAN and SAN infrastructure using state-of-the-art data and network technology
- Read, interpret and develop technical specifications and support documents
- Establish and maintain effective and professional working relationships with superiors, fellow workers, customers, and vendors
- Develop project plans for implementing new installations or system upgrades
- Manage network security operations, install and maintain network hardware, anti-x software, firewall, intrusion prevention systems and proactive monitoring of systems
- Design IT workflows and customer guided support plans as needed
- Fulfill assigned service requests and assist help desk with escalated ticket issues
- Maintain physical and virtual server infrastructure environments
- Manage and maintain Exchange Online, Office 365, Barracuda message archiving & Spam Firewalls
- Manage SharePoint Online services, and company Document Libraries
- Ability to support Sheridan locations 24/7 and occasional travel to other facilities
- Assist with organizational compliance initiatives as needed (GDPR/CCPA, PCI, HIPAA, etc.)
- Conduct security assessments and compliance related scans, remediate vulnerabilities and resolve other findings as reported by the compliance team
- Provide after-hours remote support
- Engage with SysDev Team on application support needs and in-house development efforts
Qualifications
- Strong interpersonal and organizational skills
- Strong technical skills with computer systems and Microsoft Software Products
- Strong IPv4 networking skills and knowledge in TCP/IP Protocol
- Strong Windows Server, Active Directory and VMware experience is preferred
- Strong Oracle & Mongo Database Admin experience is preferred
- Strong Cisco networking (Layer 2 & Layer 3)
- Strong Cisco ASA/VPN/NGIPS & Firepower knowledge is preferred
- Some Project Management and DevOps skills is preferred
- Some AWS/AZURE Cloud experience is preferred
- Some Linux Server Administration is preferred
- Some programming/scripting experience (PowerShell, Python or Shell Scripting) is preferred
- Strong knowledge in VMware vSphere and Horizon View technology is preferred
- NetApp & Nimble Storage Administration experience is preferred
- Knowledge in Ubiquiti wireless technology is preferred
- Strong knowledge in Microsoft Office 365 and Email Security is required
- Strong knowledge in Microsoft SharePoint & Site Administration is required

Education and Work Experience:
- BS in Computer Science, Information Technology, or Information Systems
- Equivalent experience and technical training may be substituted for the education requirements
- Microsoft MCSE, Cisco CCNA, CompTIA Network+ or Security+ Certifications are preferred
- 3-6 years’ experience and at least 2 years in current position as a Network Engineer is required
