Overview

The time is right to join HNTB! We are seeking a

Part-time Intern – Developer(Transportation Planning) – Summer 2018
to work in our

Atlanta, Georgia
office.

Relocation is not provided for this role.

Job Summary

Under close supervision, assists assigned department(s) and/or project(s) by performing basic and routine administrative support work and other related tasks which may reflect elements of standard post-secondary business curriculum, usually on a part-time, temporary, or co-op basis.

Essential Responsibility

– Performs administrative tasks which may be specific to a particular functional area of activity such as preparing reports, answering the phone, receiving messages, transmitting information, making copies, editing documents, handling routine inquires and making appointments.
– May support multiple marketing functions for a defined product or service line. Perform activities including but not limited to coordinating program development, tracking of marketing campaigns to evaluate results and provide recommendations for future marketing promotions.
– Participates in meetings and interfaces with various teams.
– Assists management in analyzing various data.
– Works on special projects and provides research as needed.
– Performs other duties as assigned.

Additional Responsibilities

– Debugging code
– Processing geospatial SQL data
– Assisting in maintaining PostgreSQL databases
– Writing scripts, primarily in python, for task automation

Basic Qualification

High School Diploma/GED or equivalent plus working toward a BA/BS

Preferred Qualification/Skills

– Pursuing BS in Computer Science strongly preferred
– Working knowledge of Microsoft Suite
– Ability to multi-task and solve abstract challenges
– Understanding of cloud environments
– Familiar with web development, HTML, CSS, JavaScript
– Able to work in Windows and Linux environments
– Experienced with SQL
– Familiar with RDBMS best practices
– Exposure to version control systems, GIT preferred
– Experience with geospatial data is a plus

General Work Conditions

Office Environment: Work is generally performed in an office environment in which there is only minimal exposure to potentially unpleasant working conditions. Incumbent must have the ability to stand and sit frequently, and reach horizontally as well as vertically for overhead use.
