As a People Data Analyst at Splunk you have knowledge of the key functional areas of HR that will help you develop data structures, analytics, and data visualizations to enable us to find insights, align with objectives and take action. You will be a champion of our culture and ensure treatment of employees is fair, respectful, and consistent with our values, core competencies and leadership.

Splunk’s People Operations Team (SPOT for short) is chartered to provide both proactive and reactive support for HR Programs and the Employee Experience. As part of this relatively new team, you will contribute by effectively building, analyzing, presenting and providing support thru data to our COE’s, business partners and HR management. Your key responsibility will be to build out our reporting, data insight and predictive analytic capabilities. Partnership with our HRIS, ServiceNow and internal product team will drive our ability to report on a holistic HR view. You will also have project related activities with a focus on employee experience and self service. The need to be flexible and to balance between dedicated projects and day to day activities is important for your success.

Responsibilities – You will:
Develop, automate, standardize and publish key standard reports and analyses to help disseminate data and insights to key leaders/partners to enable and support business decisions
Use data visualization programs, tools and techniques to generate dashboards and presentations that aid in data storytelling, understanding and interpretation of trends and patterns of business importance as well as identify areas for improvement
Perform analysis of relevant HR metrics and uncover and articulate trends in the data; forecast and quantify the gaps, risks, and opportunities in order to support HR strategy and our employees
Use data to find issues, determine root cause, the drivers of those issues, and creatively generate solutions
Acquire and compile structured and unstructured data and verify its quality, accuracy and reasonableness
Support project initiatives including HR ServiceNow, knowledge management, AI, self service, portal opportunities and compliance
Create and implement effective, timely, scalable and intuitive reporting solutions integrating data from multiple systems ensuring quality and reliability of data
Engage with internal partners to understand People strategy and goals
Collaborate on data extraction, validation, integration, and analysis requirements
Identify trends in People performance and employee relations and generate ideas for improvement
Drive enablement and training of reporting and analytics solutions to SPOT and COEs
Provide recommendations for processes and system configurations that streamline report generation and evaluation
Engage the HR Team by ensuring accurate interpretation of data findings and providing what if scenarios for achieving specific targets
Actively support broader People initiatives and projects
Maintain strict confidentiality

Required Qualifications You will have:
Bachelor’s Degree in applicable field (Business, HR, IT, Statistics, Mathematics) or equivalent experience
3+ years experience managing and interpreting data within HR systems
Experience with data visualization tools, preferably Tableau
Experience with HCM functionality and reporting preferably Workday
Experience with case management systems preferably ServiceNow
Familiarity with data warehouses, SQL and the ability to query, join and transform data from multiple sources
Demonstrated skills in data analysis and data management with business insight
Proven sophisticated application of conceptual/complex data analytical skills and critical thinking
Excellent communication, interpersonal and consensus building skills
Strong oral and written presentation/communication skills
Skills in handling ambitious priorities in a fast paced environment
Excellent customer service skills
Demonstrable ability to plan and lead projects to completion
A self-starter mentality who can identify problems/issues and offer workable solutions
Outstanding work ethic and experience with confidential information

Preferred Qualifications – We would like:
Advanced skills in Excel – demonstrating sophisticated formulas, macros, pivot tables, etc
Technical proficiency in Google Suite and MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
Solid understanding of HR Business and operational processes
Demonstrated ability to work independently as well as sustain ongoing relationships with colleagues to work multi-functionally
An objective point of view, aligned with Splunk’s values and able to navigate different agendas and desired outcomes, by being curious, balanced, equitable
Demonstrated emotional intelligence
