BCforward is seeking a full-time team member to serve as a Developer performing programming tasks related to the on-going enhancement and maintenance of a system developed to support a public sector client’s business processes. The web-based application services entities throughout Indiana performing Case Management functions while also tracking information at the county to state-wide level.
The ideal candidate will have demonstrated experience working well in a collaborative, team environment. The BCforward team works collaboratively to understand business needs, business processes and the best pathways to accomplish outcomes within the system for scalability with quality code.
The expectation is the Developer will play a vital role upon learning these aspects of our business to productively engage and collaborate as a team player. In addition, the candidate should bring a strong desire to engage in learning new technologies to the team as part of his or her career development objectives.
– Develop, maintain, debug, and test computer programs
– Develop and create reports based on client requests
– Provide technical phone support
– Conduct user-end testing and troubleshoot system issues
– Perform outreach to clients as needed.
– All other duties as assigned.
Clear understanding of databases, MySQL preferred.
Ability to create queries and perform data mining.
Cloud based providers, Amazon Web Services preferred
– Linux, specifically Red Hat Enterprise Linux.
– Computer Networking
The position works within a professional office environment at employer’s HQ, 9777 N. College Avenue, Indianapolis, Indiana. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers and phones.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms.
The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision,
peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:
This is a full-time position, and days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8:00 A.M. to 5 P.M with potential flexibility as needed to provide customer service support in collaboration with teammates.
Little to no travel is expected for this position; any planned travel would occur within the State of Indiana.
Required Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related course of study
Preferred Education and Experience:
Relevant volunteer experience or internship in software development
Work Authorization/Security Clearance (if applicable):
Must be authorized to work within the United States (U.S.).
