Join our team as a Principal Systems Engineer! You will work at our Leidos facility in Columbia, MD. If you're an experienced hands on System Engineer with a TS/SCI with polygraph clearance this highly visible, fast paced prime contract is for you!

Your primary responsibilities:

  • Lead contractor systems engineering activities for a project to include supervising the work of the project engineering staff and technicians.
  • Independently resolve important engineering issues requiring the use of advanced technology.
  • Plan and develop engineering projects with unique or complex aspects that impact major capabilities of high priority to the enterprise.
  • Analyze and propose appropriate engineering standards and processes for our program.
  • Assist in conducting an evaluation to determine its suitability for project implementation.
  • Assist in developing a new or innovative approach to a technical or engineering issue.
  • Brief stakeholders and present the status on all technical aspects of their project.
  • Independently make decisions regarding engineering issues and methodology for projects.
  • Serve as a Subject Matter Expert in one or more Process Areas defined in the ISO/IEC 15288.
  • Technical Process Area – Stakeholder Requirements Definition, Requirements Analysis, Architectural Design, Implementation, Integration, Verification, Transition, Validation, Operation, Maintenance, and Disposal; 
  • Project Process Area – Project Planning, Project Assessment and Control, Decision Management, Risk Management, Configuration Management, Information Management, and Measurement; 
  • Enterprise (Organizational Project-Enabling) Process Area – Project Portfolio Management, Infrastructure Management, Lifecycle Model Management, Human Resource Management, and Quality Management;
  • Agreement Process Area – Acquisition and Supply

Basic Qualifications

  • Active TS SCI w/polygraph security clearance
  • Working knowledge of customer enabled high speed capability (EHSC) skillsets
  • A Bachelor’s degree in a Qualified Engineering Field or a related discipline from an accredited college or university plus twenty (20) years of systems engineering experience. Or Master’s degree in a Qualified Engineering Field or a related discipline from an accredited college or university plus eighteen (18) years of systems engineering experience.  Or a High School Diploma or GED plus twenty-four (24) years of general systems engineering experience (any Process Area).

Pay Range:

Pay Range $144,300.00 – $260,850.00
