Yamhill County is seeking a regular, full-time Programmer/Analyst/Database Administrator who will be responsible for the implementation, configuration, maintenance, and performance of our SQL Server databases to ensure availability and consistent performance of our applications as well as SQL Server development.
Duties include configuring and managing backups, troubleshooting SQL Server service outages and performance issues as they occur, installing and configuring new servers, strong query writing skills, proficiency at developing stored procedures, database triggers, views, index creation, table joins, DTS, SSIS, data modeling and creating relational databases. Experience with Crystal reports, SSRS, Tableau or other similar reporting tools is required. Database management experience for MySQL databases and experience in .NET development using ASP.NET and VB.NET is desirable but not mandatory.
The successful applicant must be self-directed, detail-oriented, have strong analytical and problem solving skills, and possess the ability to work in a team environment and interact with co-workers and the public in a courteous, professional manner. This position requires experience with all aspects of administering a SQL Server database environment, strong understanding of Transact-SQL, managing and maintaining third party software and databases, understanding SQL Server licensing models, experience in all aspects of the SDLC (software development life cycle), and the ability to work with customers to develop program specifications and perform the work as scoped out in the specification. The successful completion of a background investigation is required in addition to the ability to obtain CJIS (Criminal Justice Information System) clearance shortly after hire.
Minimum qualifications include a high school diploma/GED and three to ten years’ experience working as an SQL DBA/Developer. College, business school, or specialized training is preferable. Any satisfactory equivalent combination of experience and training which ensures ability to perform the work will be considered.
Full salary range: $4810 – $6095/month. Salary at hire depends on experience, but anticipated to be between Step 1 and Step 4 of this range. Benefits include medical, dental, vision, life insurance, health savings, paid leaves, paid holidays, PERS and deferred compensation options.
