Responsibilities

The WellStar Information Technology department is hiring a Project Manager to join its team. The primary role of the Project Manager is to oversee the development, management and implementation of enterprise wide initiatives as directed by leadership. The Project Manager will work with organization leaders and team members to develop and manage projects and project plans. The primary responsibility of the Project Manager is to hold the project stakeholders (clients) accountable in delivering projects on time and within scope/budget and assist in problem solving and issue resolution. Project Managers may lead multiple project work-streams for multiple clients; small engagement teams or components of large, complex engagements. They are responsible for project execution & delivery, governance, prioritizing, resource planning, execution tools, training and monthly reporting as they apply to assigned projects and new/improved processes.

This role includes both administrative (organizational) and strategic (consultative) responsibilities for managing projects/initiatives. As a Project Manager, you will be asked to provide leadership to a variety of challenging roles, make significant contributions in a relatively short time, take responsibility for the way you manage your time, develop your skill set, and deliver creative, compelling insights to the client and assist in problem solving and issue resolution.

Qualifications

Required Minimum Education: BS or BA Degree required. PMP certified preferred.

Required Minimum Experience: >3 years in a project manager role required, experience in a health care system environment preferred. Consulting experience a plus. The role must be knowledgeable about project management techniques and tools. Ability to facilitate and also apply critical thinking skills to resolve issues or problems is important. Superior critical thinking, analytical and problem solving skills are essential. Applying only a tactical approach to project management will not be successful in this role.
