Professional contributor who can competently and productively work independently on progressively complex projects/assignments, participates in and influences program, service and plans direction. The incumbent’s responsibilities are of a highly analytical and professional nature. Tracks and analyzes data /program performance then makes recommendations on operational improvements, and will require a high level of accountability and expected to correct errors prior to any significant impact beyond operations. Serves as the main liaison between RPS Dining and University and external stakeholders for new construction and renovation projects. Serves as a liaison with external franchises.
Reports to the Director of Dining Services, responsible for the oversight of new construction and renovation projects for RPS Dining Services for Residential Programs and Services, Bloomington Campus. Collaborates with other IU departments, external business partners, and RPS staff to ensure the department meets the highest operational standards. Serves as liaison with external franchises (i.e. Starbucks, The Den by Denny’s) to monitor and facilitate the implementation of contractual elements involving equipment, construction/renovation, and service standards.
Works with various IU departments and academic partners outside of Residential Programs and Services to continually improve client services and quality assurance; Works with City officials, architects, contractors, and engineers on projects when applicable; and on special projects related to Dining Services at the request of the Executive Director. Oversees the functionality of commercial food service equipment. Serves as a coordinator between RPS, IU Purchasing, and contracted vendors to ensure that outside food/beverage contacts and agreements/standards are being met. Communicates with IU Purchasing to purchase equipment through Equipment Service Providers and negotiate service plans/agreements.
Develops and maintains business relationship with commercial food equipment/supply manufacturers to optimize the product and supplier mix for all assigned product categories and effectively merchandise those categories with all applicable marketing tools. Develops and implements business plans/agreements to create new retail outlets throughout the campus.
REQUIRED: Bachelor’s Degree in a related discipline and five years in the Business/Hospitality field with progressively more responsibility experience in the management of institutional dining services.
