JOB FUNCTION

The project manager is primarily responsible for leading mid-level projects that span multiple systems and business processes with emphasis on driving EBITDA growth. This role will be responsible for following and improving PMO processes to support best practices in project initiation through project close-out.

JOB DUTIES

– Manage overall project lifecycle through formal project management and change control processes from initiating to closing.
– Work with project sponsor to identify and obtain needed project team resources.
– Transform general project objective and deliverables into detailed scope requirements and metrics per consult with project team and key business stakeholders.
– Work with Legal and Procurement to create and negotiate contracts as needed.
– Develop and use schedule to track and drive activities. Recognize critical path items and drive work based on delays in critical path activities.
– Create cost estimates and track cost data to measure performance against budget.
– Demonstrate disciplined scope, budget, schedule, and resource management and follow established project change approval processes.
– Develop and execute communication plans to manage expectations for project delivery and stakeholder impact.
– Monitor project performance and identify issues and resolutions; escalate issues via the project sponsor and key business stakeholders as needed.
– Manage risk by proactively identifying, analyzing, and planning risk response with the project team; communicate changes in risk and risk responses with project sponsor and key business stakeholders as needed.
– Define and manage methods to assure quality and obtain approval for project deliverables.
– Consult with Enterprise Change Management Office to proactively look for enterprise and stakeholder factors that would impact project success; execute methodology to address.
– Support and mentor other project managers throughout the organization to apply project management best practices and reinforce use of standard PMO tools and processes.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education: Bachelor’s degree required; BS/MS in Project Management or PMP preferred

Experience: 7-10 years in managing various project types and 3+ years of related experience in consumer packaged goods industry required. Experience in following formal organizational change readiness methodologies preferred. Experience in formal continuous improvement and problem solving methodologies (e.g. lean-six sigma) a plus.

Management Skills: Has strong collaboration and influencing skills. Effectively networks with and engages key stakeholders to positively affect project outcome. Defines success in terms of the entire team and takes proactive steps to build team cohesion, provides clear direction, expectations and accountabilities. Has strong written and verbal communication skills; has ability to establish clear objectives and effectively reflect an appropriate sense of urgency.

General Skills: Strong analytical and problem solving skills with ability to plan in details while maintaining line of sight to overall business objective. Ability to apply and train others on new concepts and processes. Ability to work and lead in a continuous improvement culture. Other Required Competencies: Productivity, integrity, independence, teamwork, results-oriented.

Computer Skills: Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Project; experience with SharePoint preferred.

Supervisory Responsibilities: None currently.

Physical Demands

The physical demands required in this position are those that are typical of an office environment. The ability to travel by automobile, airplane or other transportation is necessary, and such travel may occasionally entail long distances. Expected travel is less than 25%.

Work Environment

The primary work environment for this position is typical of an office work environment; it will require the periodic presence in a manufacturing environment in which appropriate personal protective equipment is prescribed and must be used.
