Location: Boulder, CO
Base Pay Rate: $20–24/hour DOE


Schedule

  • 1st Shift: Monday – Friday

  • Hours: 7:00am – 3:30pm


Position Overview

Are you detail-oriented and enjoy working with precision products? We’re looking for a Quality Assurance Technician to join our team and help ensure that optical products meet the highest standards. In this role, you’ll perform inspections, measurements, and quality checks right at the source of manufacturing, helping keep processes running smoothly and efficiently.

This is a hands-on role perfect for someone who takes pride in accuracy and wants to grow their skills in a precision manufacturing environment. You’ll report directly to the Quality Supervisor and work closely with manufacturing and engineering teams.


What You’ll Do

  • Inspect optical components to make sure they meet strict quality standards (ISO 10110, MIL-PRF-13830, MIL-PRF-48616)

  • Use tools like calipers, drop gauges, video microscopes, and tweezers to perform inspections

  • Check packaging to prevent damage or contamination (FOD control)

  • Prepare labels, Certificates of Conformance (CoC), and documentation packages for customers

  • Perform basic metrology on optical components and assemblies, including wavefront and surface measurements

  • Conduct environmental and durability testing (adhesion, abrasion, humidity, temperature, salt fog)

  • Read and interpret drawings, process sheets, coating scans, interferometer scans, and material certificates

  • Document non-conforming materials and communicate with Engineering

  • Help improve processes by identifying opportunities for training and efficiency


What We’re Looking For

  • High School Diploma required; Associate’s degree preferred

  • 1–2 years of experience in a quality assurance or manufacturing environment preferred

  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality

  • Comfortable performing moderate to complex math calculations

  • Self-motivated and eager to learn new skills


Requirements

  • This role involves work subject to International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR)

  • Must be a U.S. person per ITAR (U.S. Citizen, Permanent Resident, Political Asylee, or Refugee)

  • Visa sponsorship is not available
