Insight Global is seeking a Developer to work on a program with the U. S. Department of Education (NAEP). We are looking for someone with a passion for technology and modern applications. This position will be remote.

The NAEP development team is responsible for the development and maintenance of several sites and applications. As part of the NAEP development team, you will help in the development of Web solutions using . Net framework and the latest JavaScript libraries like Angular, Node etc. You will participate in all cycles of an Agile-driven software development process, which leverages a range of technologies. The Developer is responsible for designing, developing, and troubleshooting high performance and high availability applications. You will be integral in implementing next-generation applications for our platforms.

Essential Job Responsibilities

-Implement new software functionality using industry-standard frameworks.

-Evaluate existing solutions and propose and implement improvements and extensions as required by the overall -architecture of the product.

-Drive innovation and integration of new technologies into projects and activities in the software applications design organization.

-Develop Code, debug, and test software enhancements and/or new products in local, networked, or web services/applications, for example in C#, JavaScript, Angular, T-SQL, HTML, CSS, and the latest versions of the Microsoft stack.

-Develop web API using modern frameworks like . NET Core, Node. js, and Backbone. js, etc.

-Provide domain-specific expertise and overall software applications leadership and perspective to cross-organization projects, programs, and activities.

-Create and/or contribute to technical and functional documentation such as detailed architectural and system design documents

-Participate in project/sprint planning, status, and review meetings.

-Participate in peer reviews and evaluate designs and project activities for compliance with applications design and development guidelines and standards

-Identify problem areas and identify causes of problems and suggest actions for solving them

-Drive innovation and integration of new technologies into projects and activities in the software applications design organization

-Solid working knowledge with CI/CD tools

-Solid working knowledge of using recent versions of Microsoft Visual Studio

-Solid working knowledge with HTML, XML, JavaScript, and CSS

-Expertise in developing unit tests and supporting project-testing efforts

-Excellent Communication skills

-Microsoft and/or Security Certifications or equivalent work experience

-AWS Certification
-2 years relevant experience with Bachelors in related field; 0 years experience with Masters in related field; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 6 years relevant experience.

-Solid working knowledge of design patterns, best practices, and architectural frameworks like SOLID.

-Solid working knowledge of Web API or similar SOA frameworks

-Solid working knowledge of the installation, configuration, and administration of Microsoft technologies including SQL Server & SQL Server Reporting Services, Internet Information Services

-Solid working knowledge of programming in SQL Relational Databases (SQL-Server, Oracle, MySQL) and a good working knowledge of SQL and SQL Server Management Studio

-US Citizen with the ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust
