We are seeking a skilled back-end software engineer to join our IBM Software team. As part of our team, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining high-quality software products, working with a variety of technologies and programming languages.

Your Role and Responsibilities
WatsonX & Watson Machine Learning is looking for Backend Software Engineer to work from Kraków (Poland) office on edge-cutting AI solutions.

Have you heard about generative AI (like GPT models)? In that role, you’ll have the chance to get familiar with ongoing AI revolution. You will be responsible for framework and library development, performance profiling and cross language project work.

A successful individual for this role should possess:

• Ability to jump into multiple source code bases
• Good code writing discipline and an eye for code efficiency
• Strong analytical and problem-solving thinking

Required Technical and Professional Expertise

• 3+ years of coding and debugging in Python and experience coding in one of the other languagues such as: Go, Java, Scala
• Experience working with containerized environments (Docker/K8S/Openshift above all) is a plus
• Basic experience with machine learning techniques and machine learning tools and frameworks including but not limited to: scikit-learn, xgboost, lightGBM, tensorflow, pytorch
• Experience on agile software development
• Fluency in English – both verbal and written

Preferred Technical and Professional Expertise

• Working knowledge and understanding of machine learning and deep learning models (including Large Language Models)
• Experience on micro-service architecture and development
• Experience with cloud environments and exposure to CI/CD automation
