Pacific Life is investing in bright, agile and diverse talent to contribute to our mission of innovating our business and creating a superior customer experience. We’re actively seeking a talented DevOps Engineer to join our automation team in Newport Beach, CA. This role can be hybrid.
As a Senior DevOps Engineer, you’ll play a key role in Pacific Life’s growth and long-term success by leading the DevOps/Automation team. You will fill existing role that sits on a team of six people in the corporate division. Your colleagues will include System Administrators and System Infrastructure Engineer professionals. The ideal candidate is a blend of a pragmatic operator and software craftsman that applies sound engineering principles, operational discipline, and mature automation to our environments.
How you will make an impact:
- Overall working knowledge across IT and passion for automation, motivated to constantly be up to date with the newest technologies and proactively bring ideas to the table
- Building and implementing CI/CD pipelines
- Extensive experience with Ansible (AWX/Ansible Tower/Automation Platform) experience deploying preferred, working knowledge/experience with deploying/managing/troubleshooting PostgreSQL Database with failover testing
- Ability to challenge the status quo and help others achieve while working in an “Agile” mindset
- AWS technology and methodologies
- Develop, build, test, and deploy DevOps tools
The experience you will bring:
- 5+ years of experience in infrastructure administration, DevOps, Ansible, Terraform or a similar role
- Bachelor’s degree in CIS, engineering, or related fields
- Strong problem-solving skills through research and documentation
- Strong understanding of API connectivity (between Ansible and other tools)
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills that align with the people-first culture at PL
- bring ideas to the table
- Building and implementing CI/CD pipelines
- Passionate about achieving results and comfortable operating in uncharted territory
- Hands-on experience with Terraform, PowerShell, Python, and YAML
- Solid knowledge of Linux/Windows servers, and network devices is an advantage

- Experience with Docker/Kubernetes is a plus
- Experience working with ServiceNow is a plus

Base Pay Range:
The base pay range noted provides a basis to determine the appropriate offer dependent upon several factors including but not limited to geographic location, experience, skills, education and pay equity. Also, most employees are eligible for additional incentive pay.
$113,700.00 – $142,100.00 – $191,900.00
