EITSS Network Data Center and Security Team Overview The EITSS Network Data Center & Security Team is focused on designing, implementing, operating and maintaining the Cardinal Health network infrastructure. This team is responsible for the hardware to provide access for Cardinal Health s external clients and enable the proper protection of Cardinal Health s network and devices in our infrastructure. * Demonstrates thorough understanding of networking concepts and systems including Routing and Switching, WAN/LAN, Cisco & HP network devices, VOIP, WLANs, EVPN Multi-Site, VPN. * Demonstrates thorough understanding of implementation, configuration and maintenance of Firewalls, Load Balancer and other Web Filtering technologies. * Demonstrates excellent problem-solving skills and ability to make independent decisions. * Applies advanced knowledge and understanding of concepts, principles, and technical capabilities to manage a wide variety of projects * Participates in the development policies and procedures to achieve specific goals * Works with vendors on product selections to maintain or enhance the network environment. * Uses subject matter/functional expertise, influence and process skills to help internal/external customers and stakeholders identify and meet their high priority needs while considering cultural and diversity implications. * Jointly develops practical implementation plans that consider cultural sensitivities with other accountable parties. * Encourages informed Risk-taking and acts as a catalyst for innovation at Cardinal Health; generates practical, sustainable and creative options to solve problems and create business opportunities, while maximizing existing resources. * Recommends new practices, processes, metrics, or models * Ability to work on multiple large highly visible projects simultaneously. * Works on or may lead complex projects of large scope * Ensure network designs are implemented correctly and are being maintained in appropriate fashion. * Provide 3rd level support for entire network infrastructure. * Assist in the Development of Data Communications Network Strategy. * Acts as a mentor to less experienced colleagues Qualifications * Bachelors Degree in related field or equivalent work experience * 8+ years experience in related field preferred * Appropriate network certifications encouraged but not required such as CCNP or equivalent. * Certifications in Palo Alto Firewalls, F5 Load Balancers preferred but not required * Proficient with Palo Alto Networks and F5 Load Balancers * Hands on experience with installing and troubleshooting Cisco Network Infrastructure * Working knowledge of Global Protect and Prisma Cloud * Working knowledge of configuration of Cisco routers, switches. * Working knowledge of OSPF and BGP * Working knowledge of VPNs * Working knowledge with AWS, Azure, GCP Networking is a plus What is expected of you and others at this level * Applies advanced knowledge and understanding of concepts, principles, and technical capabilities to manage a wide variety of projects * Participates in the development of policies and procedures to achieve specific goals * Recommends new practices, processes, metrics, or models * Works on or may lead complex projects of large scope * Projects may have significant and long-term impact * Provides solutions which may set precedent * Independently determines method for completion of new projects * Receives guidance on overall project objectives * Acts as a mentor to less experienced colleagues Cardinal Health is an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action employer.
