Have a hand in transforming tomorrow and support a multiyear waterfront revitalization project in the City of Toronto! The successful Senior Remediation Engineer will develop project scope, manage and execute multiple complex environmental remediation projects.
In this lead remediation role you will contribute to the overall strategy and approach to the remediation of a large, multi-property project sites!
You will have in-depth knowledge of all types of remediation, both in-situ and ex-situ, sediment dredging and dewatering, and restoration. You will develop and lead large and diverse project teams in all phases of planning, execution, and delivery of site remediation, engineering and design work. In addition, you will provide creative solutions to complex environmental problems by combining regulatory risk assessment with remedial technologies.
You will interact and negotiate with regulatory agencies on behalf of clients; and lead project delivery strategic objectives which include: health, safety, environmental responsibility; risk management; client expectations for quality, schedule, and budget; financial performance for project specific targets; project team and field program expectations; operational performance and business unit expectations; and quality.
Furthermore, you will prepare and review construction contracts, scopes of work and specification for remediation and design work, oversee staff and subcontractors conducting field investigations with a focus on health and safety, develop client relationships and work alongside our Client Account Managers to position for and win work; and coach and mentor junior and intermediate staff and take an active role in staff development and growth.
The minimum qualifications for this position are:
• Minimum of 15 years of experience in the environmental consulting industry with emphasis on remediation of various media and associated aspects of environmental characterization.
• Experience completing remedial options feasibilities studies
• Experience providing senior review of remediation design work, for construction drawing packages and specifications
-Ability to demonstrate a strong record in health and safety, including experience with behavior-based health & safety programs
-Ability to demonstrate expertise in managing and executing projects, partnered with some business development experience within the site management, construction management and remediation/risk/ecology environment
The ideal candidate will possess the following skills and experience:
-P.Eng preferred; however, candidates with equivalent science degree and experience will be considered
