Role: Senior JAVA Production Support Lead

Experience: 10+ years of strong experience

Location: The candidate must be willing to work in a hybrid model from the Client’s location St Louis MO.

Responsibilities

· Java L3 Production Support – Minor Enhancement, Incident Support, Production/On-Call Support, Customer interaction, Offshore Co-ordination, Technical Leadership.

· Provide technical and functional leadership to Offshore team.

· Provides analytical, business, technical and management expertise to the team and guides the team to complete assignments.

· Respond and resolve issues beyond standard management requests as well as using independent judgment to make decisions where no clear precedents exist.

· Ensure status updates.

· Produce weekly metrics.

· Enforce client policies, procedures, and software craftsmanship.

· Provide in depth analysis for issues and provide solutions.

· Responsible for creating program specifications and unit test plans, develop code using relevant technologies independently and through peers as per business prioritization

· Proficiency in Java and Spring Boot frameworks. Hands-on experience in Microservice architecture and associated technologies.

· Provide on-call support and troubleshoot issues in production environment. Address and resolve incidents promptly to minimize impacts on business operations.

· Perform regular maintenance tasks including patching, upgrades, and configuration changes. Ensure that applications run smoothly and efficiently.

· Implement and manage monitoring tools to detect issues early. Analyse logs and metrics to identify and resolve performance bottlenecks. Familiarity with monitoring and logging tools such as Dynatrace, Grafana, Splunk.

· Analyse and resolve defects and performance issues in Java, Spring Boot applications, and microservices. Collaborate with development teams to apply fixes and enhancements.

· Understanding of relational database like Oracle, SQL.

· Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to collaborate effectively with cross functional teams.

· Experience with Containerization technologies such as docker and Kubernetes.

· Knowledge of CICD pipelines and tools like Jenkins, GitHub. Familiarity with Cloud platforms.

· Good experience in leading high performing teams and be able to resolve issues with team members.

· Participate in peer-review of code and ensure better quality of the deliverables.

· Maintain accurate documentation for support processes, known issues, and resolutions. Ensure knowledge sharing and best practices are followed.

· Should be open to work in shift and provide weekend on call support.

Salary and Other Compensation

The annual salary for this position is between depending on experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate. This position is also eligible for Cognizant’s discretionary annual incentive program and stock awards, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant’s applicable plans.
