The Senior JDE Programmer/Analyst is responsible is responsible for maintaining and improving a J.D. Edwards World A7.3 ERP solution, as well as managing various types of EDI including X12 within a distribution setting. The position involves overseeing architecture and application design, leading development efforts, and providing training and mentorship to developers on current RPG versions and distributed computing technologies. Additionally, the individual in this role will be actively involved in both production support and development tasks related to the IBMi system.

Responsibilities:

  • Troubleshoot and resolve batch job processing issues.
  • Enhance and maintain existing JDE applications.
  • Design, develop, and test IBMi RPG applications integrated with J.D. Edwards World A7.3 ERP.
  • Perform mass data updates.
  • Provide second-tier and off-hours support for the IBMi and JDE applications.
  • Train and mentor application developers on standards and best practices when needed.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, similar field, or equivalent experience
  • 3 years hands on experience with JDE World software
  • 5 years hands-on experience with full development lifecycle in an IBMi environment
  • Proficient using all modern versions of RPG (Free, ILE, III) as well as IBMi CL
  • Hands on experience with IBMi development tools; RDi, DBU, Hawkeye
  • Strong knowledge of DB2 for i and ANSI/SQL
  • Strong knowledge of EDI X12 in a distribution environment.
  • Experience with web Services SOAP, REST using XML or JSON
  • Proven analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to work in a project-based, team environment
  • Proficient in multi-tasking and managing multiple projects
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office applications
  • Some travel up to 10%

Preferred:

  • Distribution or manufacturing experience
  • Change management tool knowledge; Rocket LMi (Aldon), ServiceNow
  • Experience with Blue Yonder JDA/AWR/E3 planning software
  • CLEO/EXTOL experience
  • Varsity Shipsoft exposure

Compensation: Salary Range $115K – $145K annual depending upon education and experience.
