The Network Engineering team is responsible for a variety of infrastructure systems; platforms managed by the team include routers, switches, wireless, voice, video, collaboration and security. Our team strives to provide actionable solutions engineering to meet the demands of Ashley Furniture Industries global business needs.

The Network Cloud Architect is responsible for designing, engineering and implementing network services across our cloud providers around the globe. The candidate will be assisting in technical and problem resolution support on all of the network infrastructure hardware related to cloud connectivity. The goal is to maximize service availability and satisfy the needs of all internal and external customers. This position performs Tier 3 troubleshooting activities, across multiple environments, while performing daily reviews of overall capacity, utilization and configuration changes to the network. This position is also responsible for delivering clear, concise and timely communication to our customers to provide them with the best customer experience possible.

Primary Job Functions

This section describes the primary /essential responsibilities that this job performs.

– Lead efforts to establish automated and robust network connectivity solutions for on premise virtualization, public cloud, and remote edge in a predominately Cisco, Palo Alto and Microsoft Azure environments
– Responsible for designing and implementing network services for Cloud and On-Premise Data Centers

– Provide analysis of the hybrid cloud connectivity and perform the necessary actions to avoid deficiencies and service interruptions
– Provide analysis of the CI/CD infrastructure and perform the necessary actions to avoid deficiencies and service interruptions
– Develop and maintain operational policies and procedures supporting management of CI/CD platforms, ensuring consistent provisioning, uptime, and regulatory compliance

– Provides direction, training, and technical guidance on complex issues
– Establishes and communicates common goal and direction to team

– Acts as a resource for both internal IT and external service providers in network analysis, design, and engineering
– There is an expectation of significant connections with other infrastructure, application and Ops teams as well as third parties as appropriate and other Technology organizations
– Provides direction and/or technical guidance to Service Providers
– Responsible for compliance with internal and external policies
– Respond to major incidents, SWAT calls and other conference calls in support of IT business processes
– Performs design work that incorporates industry best practices for global enterprise networks
– Exerts influence and knowledge around Network and Data Center Strategies and Recommendations
– Ensures that network improvements are successfully implemented and monitored to increase efficiency
– Monitors usage and maintenance costs of network components and corresponding licenses and agreements
– Demonstrate the Company’s Core and Growth Values in the performance of all job functions
– The incumbent will report into the Network Engineering organization and work on developing a global enterprise network cloud strategy and roadmap


Job Qualifications

– Minimum of 5 years of experience in Enterprise Level IT Environment
– 8+ years’ experience implementing, troubleshooting, and maintaining complex network environments

Licenses or Certifications

– CCNP (Cisco Certified Network Professional) Route Switch or equivalent experience
– CCIE (Cisco Certified Internetwork Expert) Route Switch, Preferred

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

– Advanced knowledge of Cisco Data Center architecture
– Advanced knowledge of supporting Cisco LAN/ WAN switches
– Technical expertise in managing private and public cloud resources
– Microsoft Certified Solutions Expert (MCSE) or equivalent professional certifications
– Automation experience leveraging tools such as Salt, Puppet, or Ansible
– Advanced knowledge of analyzing existing data networks and recommend
scalable and supportable solutions
– Advanced knowledge of WAN Optimization implementations
– Advanced knowledge of Server Load-Balancing appliances
– Advanced knowledge of analysis/forensic tools
