THE ROLE:

We are looking for a Senior Network Engineer who will be responsible for administering a publicly accessible, multi-site cloud environment to enable access to the latest AMD hardware. This position is responsible for the technical architecture, engineering, and operations of the network connectivity and security of this environment. Collaborate with data center, IT security, IT network, and application teams to ensure the network architecture is defined and documented to meet strategic needs. Lead the resolution of complex technical issues.

The ideal candidate will have the ability to quickly learn new or unfamiliar technology and products using documentation and internet resources. They will be a team player with the ability to work with all levels of staff within/outside of R&D and outside the organization. A self-starter who is able to work independently but comfortable working in a team environment and have excellent problem-solving skills.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Implements, maintains and debugs the LAN/WAN infrastructure including: physical cabling, switches, routers, firewalls, and Internet circuits
  • Configures and maintains security infrastructure and policies including: security best practices, external client access, intrusion prevention, intrusion detection, IPSec tunnels, AWS, VPN
  • Optimizes end user experience by architecting the network to reduce latency, packet loss, and jitter while increasing scale
  • Deploys new software releases, system upgrades, and patches for the network infrastructure environment
  • Builds working relationships across R&D, IT and other stakeholders
  • Develops and maintains SOPs, network diagrams
  • Reviews system designs for compliance with best practices
  • Performs debug efforts often involving external stakeholders
  • Designs mission critical platforms and network resources for high availability and performance

PREFERRED EXPERIENCCE :

  • Proven years of working as a Network Engineer handling switch and router products
  • Experience in designing, configuring, troubleshooting, optimizing network hardware, topologies and deployments
  • Proficiency in Linux is required
  • Deep understanding of networking concepts, architecture, topology, network protocols including but not limited to BGP, OSPF, VXLAN, IGMP, DHCP, DNS, Network Management protocols, NAT, Multicast, QoS (RoCE/DSCP), Monitoring/Analytics
  • Experience with interconnections between RoCE, InfiniBand switches and servers
  • Experience using AMD's ROCm or Nvidia CUDA
  • Experience with developing automation for infrastructure deployment and metrics collection
  • Experience with network analysis load/stress testing tools
  • Experience managing AWS or other cloud provider technologies
  • Hands on experience with Palo Alto, Arista is a plus

ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in CS/EE
  • CCIE or equivalent certification is a major plus
