Senior Payments Business Analyst (EDIFACT & ISO 20022 Mapping)
Location: New York, USA
Work Model: Hybrid — 3 days per week onsite at the New York client location; 2 days remote.

About the role
As a Senior Payments Business Analyst, you will support EDIFACT → ISO 20022 migration activities across H2H and SWIFT payment channels. You will collaborate with cross‑functional teams to modernize legacy formats while ensuring regulatory alignment including Hybrid Address and CBPR+ standards.
In this role, you will
· Analyze legacy EDIFACT payment messages (e.g., PAYMUL, PAXLST, CREMUL).
· Define detailed field‑level mappings from EDIFACT to ISO 20022 message structures.
· Address structured vs. unstructured address translation and compliance requirements.
· Develop and maintain mapping documents, data dictionaries, and transformation rules.
· Collaborate with product, integration, and migration teams across regions.
· Support testing, defect triage, and migration readiness activities.
What you must have to be considered
· 8–12+ years of payments business analysis experience.
· Deep hands‑on experience with EDIFACT payment formats.
· Strong knowledge of ISO 20022, CBPR+, and cross‑border payments.
· Experience with SWIFT and H2H integrations.
· Strong analytical, documentation, and stakeholder management skills.
These will help you succeed
· Experience working in payments modernization programs.
· Ability to analyze undocumented or proprietary legacy file formats.
· Understanding of regulatory environments influencing cross‑border payments.
· Strong communication skills for both technical and non‑technical audiences.
· Experience with message testing, transformation or validation tools.

Compensation & Pay Transparency (New York, USA)
Salary Range: $110,000 – $130,000 USD annually. Eligible for Cognizant’s discretionary annual incentive program like COLA for $7500 USD.

Compensation decisions are based on factors including skills, experience and market conditions. The posted range reflects a good‑faith estimate at the time of posting.
