About the Team
As a member of Oracle Construction & Engineering GBU product development organization, you will design and develop features in the Textura Payment Management (TPM) Application. You’ll join a fast paced and growing team to build the best solutions available for the construction industry. Our team has built solutions using Python and Java. That said, we believe that great developers can program in any language. We’re not looking for "N years of experience with technology X", instead we’re looking for developers with excellent problem solving skills, great attitudes, and a drive to learn and improve.
Detailed Description and Job Requirements
Our team members design, develop and support the integration platform and subsystems that connects hundreds of customers to the TPM Cloud Application. As a member of the Integration team, you will be able to apply your software engineering knowledge in the development of high-performance, robust and modern services that facilitate billions of dollars of B2B transactions every month.
As a Senior Software Developer, you will design and develop the mission critical, integration components. You will drive software architecture decisions and participate in defining future enhancements and product roadmap. You will also be asked to engage in customer integration issues and help resolve problems. While you will be expected to learn quickly and work independently, you will be part of a cross-functional agile team.
Typical responsibilities include:
Enhancing and supporting both the public and internal web services / APIs
Building new reusable services and components using Python or Java
Working closely with your team of business analysts, developers and testers
Interacting with customers to implement solutions and troubleshoot issues
Writing technical API and design documentation
Learning and applying new technology
Mentor and assist junior team members.
A candidate should have:
Solid understanding of fundamental software development roles, processes and procedures
Complex problem solving skills
Ability to translate customer requirements and features into design specification
Experience working on robust, secure, high volume, commercial-grade SaaS/cloud applications
Excellent verbal and written skills
Leadership qualities, exhibiting positive attitude and a drive to continuously learn and grow
A BS degree or equivalent experience relevant to functional area.
We believe that our technology stack is easy to pick up but experience with the following will help you hit the ground running:
Minimum of two years of Python and Python-based frameworks like Celery, Django, Flask and SQLAlchemy
Java and Java-based frameworks like Spring and Hibernate
Creating and consuming APIs and RESTful web services
RDBMS such as Postgres and Oracle
Docker or other virtualization/container systems.
Analyze, design develop, troubleshoot and debug software programs for commercial or end user applications. Writes code, completes programming and performs testing and debugging of applications.
As a member of the software engineering division, you will perform high-level design based on provided external specifications. Specify, design and implement minor changes to existing software architecture. Build highly complex enhancements and resolve complex bugs. Build and execute unit tests and unit plans. Review integration and regression test plans created by QA. Communicate with QA and porting engineering as necessary to discuss minor changes to product functionality and to ensure quality and consistency across specific products.
Duties and tasks are varied and complex needing independent judgment. Fully competent in own area of expertise. May have project lead role and or supervise lower level personnel. BS or MS degree or equivalent experience relevant to functional area. 4 years of software engineering or related experience.
