Come join one of our high performing teams responsible for building and supporting enterprise open systems platform of the Social Security Administration (SSA) and their mission to meet the changing needs of the public, positively impacting at least 65 million American lives per month.  As a Senior ServiceNow developer, you will be required to utilize your experience to provide senior expertise to the client and other ServiceNow developers and administrators, guide and mentor junior team members, and develop solutions across the full suite of ServiceNow offerings including IT Service Management (ITSM), IT Operations Management (ITOM), and IT Asset Management.

*** Selected candidate must be willing to work on-site in Woodlawn, MD 5 days a week.

  • In addition, you will determine and implement solutions for new features, capabilities, and tools integrations with ServiceNow to address key system requirements defined by the client.
  • Analyze and translate business information and technical requirements into reference designs, playbooks, and development roadmaps that outlines solutions and strategies to achieve complex business objectives while complying with architectural standards and policies
  • Lead the evaluation of reference designs, architectures, blueprints and playbooks to ensure they are fit for purpose
  • Develop and maintain the ServiceNow platform in alignment with the strategy
  • Lead efforts for ServiceNow platform management, data management, configuration and implementation, custom development, and infrastructure management
  • Drive solid platform health by reviewing and guiding the remediation of configurations and customizations that do not align to ServiceNow leading practices.
  • Work with clients and ServiceNow teams to plan and develop new ServiceNow capabilities and/or applications including leading successful go-lives, end-user adoption planning, and on-going support post deployment
  • Review and evaluate demand for fit and alignment to products and identify complex features requiring additional due diligence
  • Adhere to ServiceNow code quality control processes and routines
  • In this role you will be required to work collaboratively with the client to understand the business needs, long term vision, and short-term goals to develop new ServiceNow applications and/or functionality to meet those needs.
  • Your responsibilities may include:
    • Front-end technologies like HTML, CSS, and JS
    • JavaScript or similar scripting languages, and the web as a development platform
    • Modern UI frameworks like Angular or React
    • Full stack development or developing automated solutions
    • DevOps implementations
    • Integrations and REST API automation
    • Agile development practices (e.g. SAFE, Scrum)
    • Automated testing using tools such as ServiceNow ATF
    • Business analysis and design
    • Server/infrastructure administration
    • Security, Governance, Risk & Compliance — with good aptitude on development and configuration skills

  • Attend all customer technical discussions/design/development meetings and provide technical inputs to further enhance the code quality/process.
  • Provide guidance/support to other junior/mid-level developers.
  • Impact functional strategy by developing new solutions, processes, standards, or operational plans that position customer competitively in the marketplace with best practices.
  • Provide weekly and monthly reports that keep program leadership and the client apprised of technical progress, potential risks with documented mitigations, and issue resolution plans and status.
  • Represent Leidos as the technical face of the company with partner teams and the client.
  • Work with cross-functional team in an agile and fast-paced development environment to define user stories and tasks.
  • Use your ServiceNow subject matter expertise to influence the program and client on the evolution of the platform.

FOUNDATION FOR SUCCESS (Basic Qualifications)

BS Degree and 12 years of experience. Additional years of experience may be substituted in lieu of degree.

  • Experience with multiple ServiceNow product implementations and development
  • Experience in scripting on the ServiceNow platform
  • Experience on ServiceNow platform support and administration
  • Proficiency with various features and functionalities of the ServiceNow platform
  • Thought leader for design and implementation of new solutions involving ServiceNow products like BIA, SAM, CM.
  • Experience working in Agile Practices (e.g. SAFE, Scrum)
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Public Trust. Contract requirement.

FACTORS TO HELP YOU SHINE (Required Skills)

These skills will help you succeed in this position:

  • At least 7 years of experience developing ServiceNow functionality leveraging ServiceNow’s core architecture and primary application modules such as Service Catalog, Incident Problem, Change Request, Asset and CMDB, Discovery Knowledge
  • At least 5 years developing, testing, deploying, and supporting custom ServiceNow developed applications and/or capabilities and functionality
  • At least 3 ServiceNow certifications, including ServiceNow Certified Application Developer (CAD)
  • Experience with 3rd party API integrations such as REST/SOAP/JSON
  • Experience working in a highly agile (SAFe, Scrum, Kanban) environment

HOW TO STAND OUT FROM THE CROWD (Desired Skills)

Showcase your knowledge of modern development through the following experience or skills:

  • Experience leveraging ins.pi products (YouDesign, UPMX, Designer, or FREELUCY)
  • ServiceNow Certified Implementation Specialist (CIS) certifications or any Pro Suite certifications
  • Experience with AJAX and XML
  • Experience working in a PaaS/SaaS environment
  • SME across ServiceNow products from design, implementation, testing and operations.
  • Demonstrated ability to influence and consult including providing options with pros, cons and risks around key technical decisions during design and implementation
  • Strong organizational skills and understanding of the Project Management lifecycle
  • Prior Federal government experience.
  • Self-starter, highly motivated individual who adapts and isn’t afraid to volunteer in a dynamic work environment
  • Strong attention to detail with an ability to operate effectively across multiple priorities

Pay Range $126,100.00 – $227,950.00
