Working under the direction of the Manager or Senior Team Lead, will be responsible for designing and developing sophisticated software; developing software with large scale data for control design automation systems; designing features to advance MathWorks' software to higher levels of automation by providing high performance distributed workflows; applying distributed computing methodologies to replace difficult manual tasks with best-in-class automation; developing software features to enable engineers around the world to bring innovative designs to market efficiently; developing new features in MATLAB and Simulink that allow engineers to implement their ideas on an embedded device through automation, simulation and debugging capabilities; delivering maximum user productivity and outstanding ease of use; and participating in all phases of software development, including user requirements, functional design, implementation, testing, and design validation.

Minimum Qualifications:

Education and Experience:

Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a closely related field (or foreign education equivalent) and two (2) years of experience in job offered or two (2) years of experience in development, testing, or technical support of embedded systems.

OR

Ph.D. degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a closely related field (or foreign education equivalent) and no experience.

 

Special Requirements:

  • Demonstrated expertise in FPGA and digital circuit design, including writing algorithms, applying design patterns, and programming in Verilog.
  • Demonstrated expertise in developing digital signal processing algorithms, including simulation in MATLAB and Simulink, and deployment to embedded target in C and C++.
  • Demonstrated expertise in object-oriented design, software architecture analysis, and testing in C++ and MATLAB.
  • Demonstrated expertise developing, maintaining and enhancing graphical user interfaces and supporting infrastructure to improve the user experience, including developing and maintaining GUI desktop applications using C++, Python, or MATLAB.
