What you will be working on:
As a Senior Software Engineer, you will support the Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) on a new multi-year effort. You will be part of a team providing integration, programmatic support, design, engineering, development, and sustainment of analytic capabilities that provide various Cyber Situational Awareness and Defensive Cyber Operations capabilities to the entire DoD. This effort concentrates on developing, testing, implementing, sustaining, and providing innovative, secure, and interoperable solutions to be deployed on a big data platform.
You will work on a team size of 20-25 people with a mixture of senior and junior developers, data scientists, and cyber analysts. Work location includes: a Contractors facility in Silver Spring, MD; Contractor support at DISAs Lab and HQ in Fort Meade, MD.
Specific responsibilities include:
Managing all DevOps and other engineering efforts
Ensuring the quality of all engineering efforts
Coordinating with other DevOps teams to remove duplication of efforts
Reporting status of all development efforts on a weekly basis
Coordinating all weekly meetings with embedded teams
Accurately reporting all timelines and ensuring development efforts meet expected deadlines
What you need:
10+ years of experience of software development using the following languages: Scala; Python; Hadoop; Spark; Java; and Storm.
Experience in machine learning and/or statistics
A Bachelors Degree from an accredited college or university in an Information Technology related field (e.g. Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Data Science, Information Systems)
An active Secret or Top Secret security clearance
What we would like you to have:
Experience in AI, Machine Learning, Statistical Models, and Natural Language Processing
Familiarity with work at DISA or similar agencies
Analytic development on AWS
