Senior Software Engineer

C.H. Robinson is looking for a Full Stack Developer to join our CIT Programming development team. The Software Engineer (SE) III role works closely with the Business Analyst to define, estimate, and design solutions for complex software development. This role writes code that meets data integrity, performance, business and security objectives for complex architecture features for implementing new software products and/or developing enhancements to existing products. In addition to this, the SE III plays a key role in guiding the team and mentoring other developers on their team, driving innovation through leadership and discussions
Responsibilities:
Defines and establishes the software development process in collaboration with own and associated teams. May lead the effort in defining standards and best practices for team in partnership with the Architect.
Designs solutions for the most complex scenarios and may influence or drive architectural changes.
Maintains the integrity application architecture.
Translate/Convert the business high-level requirements into detailed designs to complex business problems, partnering with Business Analysts, business stakeholders, and Architects. Anticipates business needs and presents options to business stakeholder with the business analyst.
Estimates for projects including work, time, resources and skill needs.
Develops code to satisfy the most complex/enterprise requirements, taking in to account performance and availability.
Leads the development of features and functionality with a team
Utilizes source control features best practices to track and control changes. Designs source control strategy for the team.
Collaborates with team to define testing strategy and uses tools and techniques to drive the testing of applications and their dependencies.
Proactively troubleshoots applications and identifies performance and availability issues of applications, providing effective options for resolution.
Constructs and delivers proposed solution strategies for potential new technologies and works with architecture to review and approve proposals.
Create ongoing value for the business through iterative development/delivery, and working on continuous improvement within an agile environment
Mentor and guide other software engineers, preforming code reviews and paired programming.
Leads by example, influences team to positively support change
Develop and maintain thorough technical documentation
Proactively identifies technologies or solutions that differ from current technology stack or represent innovative uses of existing technologies. Helps assess both cost and value of the potential new technologies.

Qualifications:
Required Qualifications:
5 + years of software engineering experience
Experience with HTTP and REST architecture
2 years collaborating with a team and working in a team environment
Experience creating applications and features in an object oriented environment (ex. C#, .NET)
Understands database performance techniques and index optimization.
In-depth experience with relational database technology including schema design, stored procedure development and SQL queries.
Experience with database objects in relational databases (ex. MS SQL, Oracle)
Experience with the following methodologies: objected oriented programming (OOP), MVC, MVVM, SOLID
Experience with unit testing
Proficient with version control systems (ex. GIT, GITHub, TFS, etc.)
Proven track record of effectively delivering results in a fast paced environment while managing multiple priorities
Possess solid communication skills and strong customer focus
Able to learn and understand the overall business structure and strategies, detailed business processes as well as relevant software for assigned area of focus and upstream and downstream processes and software.
Able to learn and understand the various technical domains across the enterprise and is able to communicate complex technical and business concepts across the enterprise and various business stakeholders.
Preferred Qualification:
Experience working on large-scale open source or inner source software development
Experience in test and/or behavior driven development
Experience in Agile/Scrum methodologies
Experience with CI/CD continuous integration / continuous deployment practices
Experience in system integration projects or global projects
Required Education:
Undergraduate degree in computer science/software engineering, or equivalent work experience
