Boeing AvionX is a rapidly growing segment of the Boeing Company, developing key electronic systems for use on aircraft and other platforms for purposes such as navigation, flight controls, information systems and other core avionics functions. This position provides direct support of Integration and Test activities for the AvionX organization. Specifically in this role you will be to develop Test Environments, Virtual Machines, System Models and Simulations to allow for software validation and verification using Agile software methods. To be successful in this role you should have experience with software development and computer architecture. Hardware troubleshooting experience, including a working knowledge of common lab test equipment, is a plus. Basic Qualifications (Required Skills and Experience)
C and C++ coding, debug, and development
Experience working in an Agile software development environment
Degree and typical experience in engineering classification: Bachelor’s and 9 or more years’ experience, Master’s degree with 7 or more years’ experience or PhD degree with 4 or more years’ experience from an accredited course of study, in computer engineering, electrical engineering, or computer science. ABET is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.
Desired Experience, Skills, and Qualifications
BSCE or BSEE with strong software background or BSCS with some hardware background
At least 3 years’ experience in software programming and/or hardware design/troubleshooting
At least 3 years’ experience in real-time software development
Some background in computer architecture and knowledge of computer hardware architecture to the component level
C# / .NET coding, debug, and development
Experience using Agile software methods
Some background in aircraft avionics
Ability to work across the hardware-software boundary
Be able to work independently or as part as a team
Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously
Experience in Git, Jira and in software development in Visual Studio
Hands on experience in Virtualization technologies, e.g. VMware, QEMU
Experience with MIL-STD-1553, ARINC-429, and Ethernet communication protocols
