Leidos’ Defense Systems is seeking a talented Senior Software Test Engineer to join a multidisciplinary team to create unique solutions to complex engineering challenges in our Huntsville, AL location. The ideal candidate will thrive in a learning environment that encourages leadership and technical growth.
The Senior Software Test Engineer will join a highly skilled, multidisciplinary team contributing to products for a variety of programs, from large DoD (both offensive and defensive) to space. A successful candidate will be analytical and thorough with defining and executing tests. This role includes testing and integrating software components for large-scale software products, including developing and executing test procedures and communicating results with the team to validate and improve our products. The candidate will work to analyze, validate, and trace requirements to tests. The candidate may be involved in all levels of testing: System, Integration, Regression, and Design Verification

Basic Qualifications:
-
Have a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or equivalent degree from an ABET-accredited university with at least 8 years of experience in a highly technical role OR have a Master’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or equivalent degree from an ABET-accredited university with at least 6 years of experience in a highly technical role

Have highly technical software and/or test experience

Be able to work in a lab environment in-person

Have experience creating and following test plans and procedures, including providing detailed evidence of test results

Have experience detecting and tracking software defects and inconsistencies

Have experience collaborating closely with software engineers and other engineering disciplines

Have experience with system development processes, including systems engineering, software safety, requirements traceability, and software validation and verification

Mentor peers and junior engineers on best practices/test approaches

Be a resident or willing to relocate to the North Alabama area

Candidate must have ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret security clearance.
Other Qualifications:
Preference shown to candidates who have experience and/or working knowledge with:

Able to read/analyze object-oriented program source in one or more languages (C++/C#/Java/Python)

Able to develop test automation in Python

CMMI best practices

Customer interaction and engagement

Ability to decompose high-level requirements into software test architecture and procedures

Ability to lead a software test team of varying size

Pay Range:
Pay Range $107,900.00 – $195,050.00
