MANTECH seeks a motivated, career-driven, and customer-focused Senior System Administrator to join our team in Columbia, MD.

You will play a critical role in supporting the enterprise infrastructure capabilities for a global, mission-focused workforce. This position supports the high-visibility Enterprise Infrastructure Services (EIS) organization, responsible for the delivery and security of MPO’s Enterprise Information Technology (EIT)—the foundation for enterprise-wide services. As a Senior System Administrator, you will work alongside customers, Integrated Product Teams (IPTs), and vendors to support the implementation and compliance of advanced EIT capabilities through Data Center & Compute Services.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Provide Tier 1 (Help Desk) and Tier 2 (Escalation) problem identification, diagnosis, and resolution of problems.
  • Provide support to IT systems including day-to-day operations, monitoring & problem resolution for all the client/server/storage/network devices, etc.
  • Configure and manage Linux, Windows, and Unix operating systems, installs/loads operating system software and patches to maintain security compliance, troubleshoot, maintain integrity of and configure network components, along with implementing operating system enhancements to improve reliability & performance.
  • Support the design of systems, mission architecture, and associated hardware.
  • System monitoring for health and status with monitoring tools like NAGIOS.
  • Working with STIGs and fixing/updating vulnerabilities with STE/STN findings.
  • Renew Linux server certificates and applying updates to TLS security versions.
  • Experience working with ISSOs during SCA (security control assessment) testing to go through over 400 SCTM (security controls traceability matrix).
  • Working with automation software such as ANSIBLE to streamline updates and patching.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline; an additional 5 years of Systems Administrator experience might be substituted for a degree.
  • 15+ years’ experience as a Systems Administrator.
  • Knowledge of how to navigate through a Linux based system, and patching & updating Linux distributions regarding security findings.
  • Renew Linux server certificates & applying updates to TLS security versions.
  • Experience working with customers at various levels.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience leading the various refresh, replacement, and upgrade efforts.
  • Experience working with VMWARE.

Clearance Requirements:

  • Must possess and maintain a current/active TS/SCI clearance with Polygraph
     

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time
  • Occasionally moves about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc.
  • Frequently communicate with co-workers, management, and customers, including delivering presentations. Must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations
