The Total Rewards team is looking for a System Analyst Sr, with a product and growth mindset, excellent communications skills and customer service. Our team is responsible for the tools, capabilities, and processes for Total Rewards for all our Partners (employees) at Starbucks. In this role, this partner will own continuous improvement initiatives for the technology supporting Payroll, Compensation and Benefits, working with cross-functional teams and vendors to deliver innovative and data driven technology solutions and insights, with a focus on elevating the user experience.
As a Systems Analyst Sr., you will…
- Solution Design and Deliver: Total Rewards programs and processes leveraging SAP Success Factors offerings (EC, ECP, Compensation). You will Gathers, analyzes, and documents solution requirements. Facilitates user story creation and backlog grooming in an agile delivery environment.
- System Configuration & Testing: You will be responsible to Perform application configuration in support of solution delivery, provide consulting to development team in agile design/development of custom solutions, support solution testing efforts by developing test plans, preparing test environments, coordinating/performing the test execution, and reviewing test results
- Production Support: You will provide global, after-hours support for critical systems by managing and resolving high-priority incidents within SLA. Coordinate issue resolution with internal teams and external vendors, perform root cause analysis to build system expertise, and ensure clear communication with stakeholders. Develop and maintain system documentation, SOPs, and training materials.
- Leadership: You will Works independently with minimal supervision, escalating issues appropriately when needed. Partner effectively with business and operations teams to respond quickly and thoroughly to requests, contribute thoughtful inputs in team discussions, and will lead small design or work streams.
We’d love to hear from people with:
Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field, plus 5 years of progressive, post-bachelor’s experience in a system engineering or related role.
Must have minimum 5 years of experience in each of the following:
- Performing systems development lifecycle and IT operations using Agile and Waterfall.
- Analyzing, configuring, implementing, and supporting HCM ERP/SAS systems, Preferably SAP Success Factors.
- Engaging in analysis using ad hoc query tools.
- Utilizing user-centric design concepts in conjunction with agile development and testing processes to support development of highly engaging technology solutions.
- Assessing, designing and deploying sustainable technology solutions.
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Ability to learn new technologies.
- Functional, business process, and configuration experience in Success Factors EC, ECP, Compensation
- Experience working with third Party Vendors is preferred.
- IT Project experience as a project resource in agile environment
- Demonstrates working knowledge of systems development lifecycle and IT operations.
- Functional expertise of relevant applications/modules/platforms (Success Factors, SAP HCM)
- Utilizes user-centric design concepts in conjunction with agile development and testing processes to support development of highly engaging technology solutions.
- Ability to use business knowledge, sound judgment, and resourcefulness to design and deploy highly reliable and sustainable technology solutions.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, knowledge of ABAP and ability to use ad hoc query tools to troubleshoot system issues and analyze large datasets.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to understand business and technical issues and influence decision making.

*If you are working in CA, CO, IL, LA, ME, MA, NE, ND or RI, you will accrue vacation up to a maximum of 120 hours (190 in CA) for roles below director and 200 hours (316 in CA) for roles at director or above. For roles in other states, you will be granted vacation time starting at 120 hours annually for roles below director and 200 hours annually for roles director and above.
The actual base pay offered to the successful candidate will be based on multiple factors, including but not limited to job-related knowledge/skills, experience, geographical location, and internal equity. At Starbucks, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at the high end of the range for their role, and compensation decisions are dependent upon the facts and circumstances of each position and candidate.
