Position Overview

QinetiQ is looking to hire a Senior Systems Engineer to support development, integration, test and evaluation of aerial target systems, subsystems, and related equipment for the Threat Systems Management Office in Huntsville, AL .

Responsibilities

  • Research, design, and develop hardware and software to improve the capabilities of aerial targets, aerial target systems/subsystems, their components, enhancements, augmentations, and payloads.
  • Field Engineering support for troubleshooting, analysis, and repair of aerial target systems, subsystems, and related equipment.
  • Engineering Services support to modify target systems, subsystems, and related equipment hardware and software.
  • Collaborate with Engineering leads to define requirements, system architectures, and requirement allocations to subsystems and components.
  • Propose and create system design specifications, diagrams, and charts to provide recommendations and technical guidance to decision-makers and development teams.
  • Integration of sensors, software, and processing with user interfaces and other system architectures.
  • Manage requirements verification and traceability throughout design, development and testing phases.
  • Coordinate and perform in-depth field data collections, tests and experimentation, including end-user reviews, for prototype systems.
  • Provide technical support to the Targets Systems Management Office. This support shall include any area of administrative, general, logistical or engineering to support and assist in the program management of aerial target programs.

Required Qualifications

  • BS degree in systems engineering, or computer engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience integrating electronic systems on aerospace or ground combat vehicles.
  • Minimum of 2 years of hands on experience performing model based systems engineering (MBSE) with SysML and MagicDraw.
  • Experience with a Modular Open Systems Approach (MOSA) to development, Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE), design reuse, and DevSecOps engineering.
  • DoDAF and UPDM is a plus.
  • Demonstrable experience specifying system architectures that conform to Modular Open Systems Approach (MOSA) principles.
  • Knowledge of military sensor performance and capabilities.
  • Active DOD Secret or higher clearance.
