Job Summary

Cognizant is looking for a Senior UI React Developer with five to eight years of experience in developing customized products for our clients. The role is expected to drive technology discussions and analyze the current landscape for gaps in addressing business needs. Cognizant needs a motivated individual to challenge the status quo and provide thought leadership/standard processes to enhance our current services and technologies.

Location: Bellevue, Washington

Responsibilities:

• In-depth knowledge of JavaScript, CSS, HTML5, and web standards (WAI-ARIA)
• Building reusable components and front-end libraries for future use
• Create quality mockups, and prototypes and come up with Design Documents
• Design and develop new custom components to meet project requirements.
• Experience using micro apps, resource bundles, webpack, redux, flux etc.
• Experience in integrating the backend APIs with the front end.
• Identifying web-based user interactions.
• Troubleshooting interface software and debugging application codes.
• Developing and implementing front-end architecture to support user interface concepts.
• Monitoring and improving front-end performance.
• Experience in analyzing and identifying the root cause of any production failure and documenting.

Qualifications:

• React.js Fundamentals: Proficient understanding of React.js and its core concepts. Knowledge of JSX syntax and the virtual DOM.
• JavaScript and ES6: Strong proficiency in JavaScript, including ES6 features. Understanding of asynchronous programming and promises.
• HTML and CSS: Solid understanding of HTML and CSS. Experience in creating responsive and visually appealing user interfaces.
• Component-Based Architecture: Ability to design and implement React components following best practices. Understanding of component lifecycle methods.
• State Management: Familiarity with state management in React applications. Experience with solutions like React Hooks, Context API, or state management libraries (e.g., Redux).
• Routing:Knowledge of client-side routing in single-page applications using libraries like React Router.
• API Integration: Experience working with RESTful APIs and integrating them into React applications. Understanding of asynchronous data fetching.
• Version Control/Git: Proficient use of Git for version control. Understanding of branching, merging, and pull requests.
• Responsive Design: Knowledge of responsive web design principles. Ensuring that UIs are optimized for various devices and screen sizes.
• Debugging and Performance Optimization: Proficient in debugging React applications using browser developer tools. Ability to optimize application performance.
• Testing: Experience with testing frameworks for React applications (e.g., Jest, Enzyme). Writing unit tests to ensure the reliability of components.
• 5 to 8+ years of experience

The Salary rate for this position is between $72K – 130K, depending on the experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.

This position is also eligible for Cognizant’s discretionary annual incentive program, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant’s applicable plans.
