About Deutsche Bank Global Technology
Deutsche Bank Global Technology (DBGT) is a Development Center of Excellence located in Cary, North Carolina. DBGT is a dedicated application development and software engineering center for leading-edge technology solutions providing superior business and systems solutions supporting the Bank’s Global Prime Finance business. Global Prime Finance is a broad business division consisting of prime brokerage, financing solutions, and securities lending-all supported by innovative technology and reporting platforms that allow comprehensive client servicing.
The Software Development Engineer designs and develops application code in response to business problems and may participate as part of a team on development related work. The Software Development Engineer defines technical solutions to support business and technical requirements. The Software Development Engineer is responsible for writing application code that provides value, reliability, and efficiency while adhering to the development life cycle process.
Responsibilities & Tasks:
Designs application components to meet the requirements of a business and documentation of the design
Identifies, assess and mitigates risks, including those related to design, integration, and quality
Contributes to the definition of development and software standards
Contributes to problem and root cause analysis
Verifies integrated software components by unit and integrated software testing according to the software test plan
Supports creation of Software Product Training Materials, Software Product User Guides, and Software Product Deployment Instructions
Manages maintenance of applications and performs technical change requests scheduled according to Release Management processes
Fixes software defects/bugs
Measures and analyses code for quality
Collaborates with Functional Analysts and technical specialists
Previous relevant experience with software development
Strong knowledge of Core Java, Java EE, Spring, Junit, Weblogic, JBoss, and C#
Solid experience with Sybase, Oracle, Unix, Windows, CVS, and GIT
Strong analytical skills
Ability to work in virtual teams and matrixed organizations
Excellent team worker with great verbal and written communication skills
Experience developing software in both an agile and waterfall environment
Financial markets experience preferred
Undergraduate degree in Computer Science or Software Engineering or equivalent experience
