The Digital Modernization Sector at Leidos has an opening for a Software Engineer for the Global Solutions Management – Operations II (GSM-O II) contract. This contract includes the Operations, Sustainment, Maintenance, Repair and Defense of the Defense Information System Network (DISN) within the DOD Information Network (DODIN) in support of the Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA). This role is is located at DISA – Columbus, OH.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Engineer documentation, enter all DISN project descriptions, circuit configuration data and project milestones in the authorized on-line database application accessible by Government and offeror personnel, approved by the COR.

  • Support DISA with the design and implementation of Domain Name System Security Extensions (DNSSEC), as part of DNS hardening, in support of the global g-Root and .mil generic Top-Level Domain (gTLD).

Provide assistance with systems programming support to the DoD NIC for the following:

  • Assist with the design and implementation of on-line registration templates for the collection and automated processing of encryption keys, hashing records, registry contact information, and host record data used in the management and announcement of DNS hardening data in the .mil zone.

  • Assist with the design and implementation of on-line registration templates and registration system modifications in support of new customer requirement projects approved by the DISN Infrastructure Executive or introduced by architecture changes resulting from DNS hardening initiatives.

  • Support the design and implementation of a Central Key/Hash Repository for the tracking and management of DNSSEC data for all domain levels using .mil.

  • Support the design and implementation of central registry and automated DNSSEC signing processes for the DoD-owned .mil domains.

  • Assist with the design, implementation, and integration of an automated DNSSEC zone signing process into the existing automated DNS zone generation and central registry toolset.

  • Assist with the design and implementation of registration and DNSSEC encryption key and hash management tools to track key validation, key expiration, automated reporting and notification of delinquency or expiring keys to the user and network/management oversight authorities. Numerous reports will be required to fully manage and oversee the DNSSEC key management process and the timely roll-over of key/hash information.

Basic Qualifications

  • Active DoD TS clearance.
  • Bachelor's degree in a related discipline with 4+ years of applicable combined education and experience; additional related years of experience is accepted in lieu of a degree.
  • Security+ Certification

Pay Range:

Pay Range $81,250.00 – $146,875.00
