The Leidos National Security Sector is seeking a Software Engineer to be a part of the PEO IWS 5 program in Chesapeake, VA. As part of the Technical Software Engineering Team, you will provide network engineering support for the AN/SQQ 89A(V)15 and including assistance in virtualization efforts and maintaining all associated Virtual Operator Trainers (VOT). This role provides specifications for network architecture, evaluating and recommending new upgrades to enhance current capabilities, and performing IWS5 needs assessments. Additional duties include VOT installations & testing, conducting technical hardware and software refreshes, and troubleshooting/repair of network VOTs across all Fleet Concentration Areas. You will be a part of a small and specialized team to solve routine VOT and software repairs. You develop solutions for issues for A(V)15 ACB variants that require basic technical knowledge and typically require collaboration with internal experts.

 

Responsibilities:

  • You will help develop hardware and software solutions for IWS5 customer needs, in a manner aligned with Configuration Management (CM) practices, tools & techniques, and US Navy Cyber Security requirements.

  • You provide on-site support to our development and management teams to demonstrate the effectiveness and value of modern CM to our Navy customers.

  • Conduct troubleshooting and repairs to VOTs across all FCA.

 

Basic Qualifications:

  • BS degree or equivalent experience and less than 2 years prior relevant experience (additional experience, education and training may be considered in lieu of degree).

  • Basic understanding of CM principles (Continuous Integration, Continuous Delivery) and tools (Jenkins, Docker) techniques on complex software projects, and basic knowledge of system administrator for Linux systems.

  • Basic understanding of software engineering, coding, software virtualization, and troubleshooting abilities.

  • Knowledge of scripting languages and methods to automate processes is required.

  • Ability to travel approximately 4-6 weeks per year as required for customer meetings and VOT Support.

  • Hold (or be able to obtain) a valid US Passport as travel abroad may be required.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Understanding of tests and testing strategies for Jenkins or Google Test Certifications of Security+, Linux+, Network+, or CCNA.

  • Experience with the creation and deployment of Linux system images preferred.

  • Experience with Red Hat Ansible admin preferred.

  • Experience virtualizing software is preferred.

  • AN/SQQ 89 (V)15 experience preferred.

 

Security Clearance:

  • Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret Security Clearance.

Pay Range:

Pay Range $53,950.00 – $97,525.00
