Boeing Space, Defense, and security is seeking Junior Software Engineers to support the Commercial Derivative Aircraft Division on the P8 Program in Dallas, TX.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Working in an object-oriented software development environment using high-level languages targeting an embedded real-time operating system.
Assist with the documentation and maintenance of architectures, requirements, algorithms, interfaces and designs for software systems.
Develop, maintain, and integrate software components into a fully functional software system.
Assist with test procedures and documenting test results to ensure software system requirements are met.
Work under close supervision.
The successful candidate will be interested in aircraft mission systems or operator training systems/simulations, is highly motivated, exhibits strong communication; inter-personal, and problem solving skills, as well as the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced team oriented environment.

This position requires an active Top Secret U.S. Security Clearance. (A U.S. Security Clearance that has been active in the past 24 months is considered active.)
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
Bachelor, Master or Doctorate degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry
Object-oriented software development environment experience, using high-level languages.
Academic or professional experience with Java, C or C++
Familiarity with software configuration management
Familiarity with software development through the software lifecycle
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
Linux/Unix operating systems
Low-level driver/operating system implementation
Software Architecture Design
Open System Architecture
Open Mission Systems standards
Operator Machine Interface design/implementation
Software integration and testing
COTS software integration
IBM Rational Rhapsody, ClearCase, ClearQuest
Prior military or commercial avionics software development.
Familiarity with formal development processes and current software engineering topics
Bachelor’s and 2 or more years’ experience or a Master’s degree with experience. Bachelor, Master or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry. ABET is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.
