LGS is seeking a Software Engineer I to, under direct supervision, develop and test software in various aspects of IP/telecommunication systems on multiple hardware platforms utilizing Linux and/or Unix-based operating systems
Duties and Responsibilities:
The successful candidate will be responsible to:
Work from existing design specifications to implement, test and document software for communication systems and/or subsystems
Operate effectively and comfortably in a team environment
Work closely with team members and manager to gain technical experience
Additional Duties and Responsibilities:
Travel to other LGS locations or customer sites as necessary
Understand and adhere to all LGS Ethical and Compliance policies
Proactively ensure a safe work environment and adhere to LGS EH & S policies and procedures
Perform other duties as required
Consistent and reliable attendance required
If required, obtain/retain a government security clearance at the level required to perform the duties of the position
Work is typically performed in an office and field environment which requires proper safety precautions. Work may require some physical effort in the handling of light materials, boxes, or equipment.
Minimum Qualifications: Minimum Qualifications:
A minimum 0-2 years of related experience
Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or related technical discipline, or equivalent combination of education, skills, and experience
Preferred Qualifications: N8:N9Knowledge of C/C++ and an understanding of Object Oriented Programming fundamentals
Familiar with software engineering process concepts from requirements reviews, code inspection to component delivery and sign-off
Familiar with development in either Windows, Linux and/or Unix-based operating systems
Use of development tools (e.g. editors and compilers)
Some experience debugging system-level issues with various lab equipment
