We are seeking a talented and experienced Software Engineer Lead with expertise in building and managing CI/CD pipelines and conducting hardware-in-the-loop testing. As a key member of our team, you will play a crucial role in automating software delivery processes, ensuring code quality, and validating software functionality in real-world hardware environments.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • CI/CD Pipeline Development: Lead, design, implement, and maintain robust CI/CD pipelines to automate the build, test, and deployment processes for our software projects.
  • Infrastructure as Code (IaC): Develop and manage infrastructure as code (IaC) using tools like Terraform or CloudFormation to provision and configure environments for CI/CD pipelines.
  • Version Control and Configuration Management: Manage version control systems (e.g., Git) and configuration management tools to track changes, manage code repositories, and ensure consistency across environments.
  • Automated Testing: Implement automated testing strategies, including unit tests, integration tests, and end-to-end tests, to validate software functionality and prevent regressions.
  • Code Quality and Security: Implement code quality standards, static code analysis, and security scanning tools to ensure high-quality, secure, and maintainable code.
  • Continuous Deployment: Facilitate continuous deployment of software releases to production and staging environments, while minimizing downtime and risk.
  • Monitoring and Alerting: Set up monitoring and alerting systems to track the health, performance, and availability of CI/CD pipelines and production environments.
  • Hardware-in-the-Loop Testing: Design, develop, and execute hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) tests to validate software behavior in simulated or real-world hardware environments, such as embedded systems or IoT devices.
  • Collaboration and Documentation: Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including software developers, QA engineers, testers, system administrators, technical writers, configuration managers, and cybersecurity to ensure alignment on CI/CD and HIL testing strategies. Document processes, workflows, and best practices for knowledge sharing and onboarding.
  • Documentation and Knowledge Sharing: Document test cases, procedures, and best practices, and share knowledge with the team through documentation, training sessions, and presentations.
  • Assume leadership in steering software engineering initiatives, providing guidance to teams to ensure project success and optimal outcomes

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field with 8+ years of prior relevant experience or Master’s with 4+ years of prior relevant experience, additional years of experience will be accepted in lieu of a degree. 
  • 7+ years of experience in software testing, with a focus on automated testing, CI/CD pipelines, and HIL testing.
  • Proficiency in test automation frameworks and tools (e.g., Selenium, Appium, JUnit, TestNG).
  • Experience with CI/CD tools and platforms (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD, Travis CI) and version control systems (e.g., Git).
  • Familiarity with hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) testing methodologies and tools (e.g., Simulink, dSpace, National Instruments).
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues and identify root causes.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment and interact with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Must be able to obtain a Secret clearance.
     

Preferred Qualification:

  • Posses an active Secret Clearance

Pay Range:

Pay Range $101,400.00 – $183,300.00

The Leidos pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary.
