Software Engineer, Senior
Support the modernization and integration of Distributed Common Ground System-Army (DCGS-A) mission applications and infrastructure components. Maintain responsibility for the assessment and estimation of development, testing, and deployment of products and systems in the DCGS-A system family. Lead and manage initiatives that involve the analysis, design, and development of the computer software required to support hardware or technical service products, including reviewing system architecture, selecting and implementing the appropriate development and support tools to ensure product performance, and testing and debugging software. Provide technical leadership to teams and clients involved in designing, developing, testing, and verifying complex electrical, mechanical, or software systems and components. Direct, implement, and coordinate the analysis of engineering plans and projects, proposals, and equivalent technical data to develop design alternatives. Interface with other organizations to communicate design specifications and address design and integration issues. Ensure budgets, schedules, and performance standards are set and attained realistically and participate in the development of overall objectives and long-term goals of the organization.
-10+ years of experience with full life cycle systems engineering and product development
-8+ years of experience with Java and C#
-8+ years of experience with military systems, including DCGS-A, ASAS-L, or AXIS Pro
-4+ years of experience with automated configuration and deployment toolsets, including Puppet
-Top Secret clearance
-MS degree in Software Engineering or 10 years of experience as a software engineer
-5+ years of experience with virtualized system architectures, including VMWare
-4+ years of experience with Agile engineering methodologies
-Experience in working with the intelligence community (IC)
-Experience in working with Amazon Web Services, Azure, and other virtualized Cloud architectures a plus
-Experience with engineering solution development and responses to a US Army acquisition proposal
-Experience with one or more of the following: system development, software development, hardware development, or mission support
-Experience with evaluating engineering proposals and ROMs
-Experience with formal software and systems architectural test development, execution, and maintenance, including test automation
-Experience with the development of systems of systems architectures
-Experience with the development and implementation of information systems to meet functional and non-functional requirements
-Knowledge of one or more of the following: data architecture, data dissemination, or information security planning
-Knowledge of Army intelligence analysis processes, information systems security protocols, and system interoperability
-Ability to work at the conceptual level and work with program leads, customers, and internal teams to ensure successful system development, integration, and deployment
-Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities effectively
-Possession of excellent oral and written communication skills, including interpersonal expertise
-Possession of excellent presentation and collaboration skills, including working with senior leadership and external customers
