This is a hybrid position in downtown Vancouver, BC. It will start as a 6+ month engagement with the possibility to extend up to 18 months.

As a key member of the Development Support team, you will collaborate closely with developers, providing early testing, meticulous documentation, and crucial feedback. Your insights will directly impact the quality and performance of the game, ensuring a polished and engaging final product. You will be the primary point of contact for the QA team, addressing design inquiries and coordinating testing efforts.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive mission testing, focusing on flow, progression, objectives, waypoints, and scripting.
- Evaluate combat and AI systems, ensuring proper balance, difficulty scaling, and behavior across various settings.
- Perform rigorous co-op and multiplayer campaign testing, validating network stability, synchronization, and seamless drop-in/drop-out functionality.
- Test cinematics and narrative elements, verifying cutscene triggers, dialogue timing, subtitle accuracy, and player choice impact.
- Validate the save system and checkpoints, ensuring accurate placement, proper loading, and cross-session functionality.
- Test level design and environment, checking for collision issues, interactive object functionality, and visual fidelity.
- Conduct performance and stability testing, identifying frame rate drops, crashes, memory issues, and ensuring smooth performance across different platforms.
- Create detailed testing instructions and briefs, estimating testing efforts, and documenting findings.
- Communicate effectively with QA and production teams, providing clear and concise feedback.
Must-Have Qualifications:
- Extensive experience in multiple development cycles, with a strong focus on mission testing.
- Demonstrated understanding of mission flow, combat and AI, co-op and multiplayer, cinematics, save systems, level design, and performance testing.
- Proven ability to write clear testing instructions and briefs.
- Strong estimation skills for testing efforts.
- Willingness to learn new technologies and refine existing skills.
- Meticulous documentation and organization skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Nice-to-Have Qualifications:
- Experience with Unreal Engine, particularly in character and weapon content setup.
- Proficiency in Jira, Confluence, Perforce, and SharePoint.
- Experience reviewing cosmetic implementation in menus, customization screens, and character loadouts.
- Familiarity with relevant game series and their customization systems.
Compensation is based on several factors including, but not limited to education, relevant work experience, relevant certifications, and location.
