Sr. Big Data Engineer – Hybrid
Automobile Club of Southern California is seeking career-minded individuals for our senior level Big Data Developer opportunity in Costa Mesa, CA locations.
What You'll Do

You will be working with the data engineers and data scientists to focus on applying data engineering, data science and machine learning approaches to solve business problems, recommend improvements and execute on the enterprise data strategy.

You should be able to work in a project team along with data scientists to develop data pipelines capable of handling complex data sets quickly and securely as well as operationalize data science solutions. The ideal candidate should be able to help the data scientists to develop a wide variety of data products and convert their analytical models into fast, efficient, scalable, and production-ready solutions.
What You'll Need

Bachelor’s Degree minimum required

3-5 years of work experience as a technical developer or a data engineer required
-
Hadoop experience using Hive, Spark and Python is required
-
Advanced level SQL to query from multiple database systems, complex joins, subqueries, analytical functions and ability to write stored procedures required.

Experience with RDBMS systems to create databases, tables, metadata, and integrations is required

Experience with designing and developing data pipelines integrating relational databases, mainframe and distributed systems required

Experience coding with one programming language like Python, Spark, Java required

Experience with Hadoop (HDFS, Hive, HBase, Spark, Kafka etc.) required

Should be able to communicate clearly to business owners

Experience with Unix/Linux required

Experience working with cloud data platforms and products a plus

The starting pay range for this position is $122,300 – $163,000 annually. Additionally, you will be eligible to participate in our incentive program based upon the achievement of organization, team and personal performance.
