Sr. Network Engineer (Hawaii) US, US, Field Minimum Level of Education Required: High School/Equivalent Percentage of Travel: Up to 10% Location: Field Field State: Hawaii Ref#: Job Summary and Primary ResponsibilitiesOperates company’s internal data communications systems. Plans, designs and implements local and wide-area network solutions between multiple platforms and protocols. Administers network systems as needed. Supports and troubleshoots network issues and coordinates with vendors for the installation of such items as routers and switches. Works on project implementations. Contributes to project planning, cost analysis and vendor comparisons. – Administers, supports, and troubleshoots network and Telecom systems – Serves as the technical contact to evaluate and implement new technologies – Provides technical support for network problems, performing diagnostic tests, noting symptoms, and gathering relevant facts and data from end users – Maintains and operates diagnostic equipment for capacity planning and maintenance – Prepares network diagrams, flow charts, and graphic presentations to support recommended network improvements – Coordinates service calls and schedules appointments with service providers to ensure satisfactory resolution of problems and malfunctions – Performs other duties as assigned – Participate in on-call rotation for high level network supportRequired Skills / Capabilities – Demonstrated ability to communicate clearly and collaborate across functions and teams – Demonstrated knowledge of routing network protocols and troubleshooting end user support – Exceptional skills in a CLI base language (Cisco IOS / Arista / Palo Alto) and network protocols – Solid understanding and knowledge of Firewalls and RoutersEducation and Experience – Typically requires a minimum of 5 years of related experience with a Bachelor’s degree; or 3 years and a Master’s degree; or a PhD without experience; or equivalent work experience – Bachelor’s degree in engineering, computer science, or related field preferred – 5+ years of experience in a network environment or IT position preferred – Cisco CCNP Certification – Experience with network monitoring applications such as Zabbix, SolarWinds – Japanese language proficiency preferredNuVasive is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
