Job Title: Technical Publications Specialist / Documentation Control Specialist
Role Overview
The Technical Publications Document Control Specialist is responsible for supporting the development, production, publishing, and lifecycle management of product documentation. This role works closely with Technical Writers, engineering, and cross-functional teams to ensure high-quality, accurate, and timely delivery of product guides.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with globally distributed RUCKUS Technical Publications teams to support documentation across all stages of the product lifecycle.
- Coordinate with Technical Writers to assign, manage, and track part numbers, titles, publication dates, and metadata within Document Control and Content Management Systems.
- Conduct first article inspection and production reviews of product guides to ensure adherence to established production standards and guidelines.
- Partner with cross-functional web teams to publish documentation on internal and external platforms.
- Manage documentation deliverables, publishing history, and inventory across internal and external publication platforms.
- Support and contribute to initiatives related to Technical Publications tools, workflows, and production processes.
- Apply technical writing standards, tools, and best practices to ensure quality and consistency.
- Assist in developing and maintaining production process documentation and metrics.
- Support additional Technical Publications activitiesas required.
Required Qualifications
- Ability to collaborate effectively with geographically distributed, cross-functional team members.
- 3+ years of experience with web content management systems, content delivery platforms, or digital asset management tools (e.g., AEM, Drupal, Episerver, Zoomin Software).
- 3+ years of experience working with quality management systems (e.g., Arena, Agile).
- 3+ years of experience in digital or print publishing of technical documentation.
- 2+ years of experience creating and maintaining document control, production workflows, or similar process documentation.
- Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office tools, including Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and SharePoint.
- AS/BS degree or equivalent technical experience.
