Stewardship IT Manager 

 

YOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

 

 

The primary responsibilities of this role, Stewardship IT Manager, are to:

 

  • Influence the development strategy and assist with testing to successfully implement enterprise and locally developed IT tools to support the digitization of the Plant Biotechnology Compliance team;
  • Collaborate with research scientists and IT to troubleshoot, problem solve, and develop new Stewardship solutions implemented into corporate IT systems;
  • Understand and represent the needs and processes of the research scientists to serve as the liaison with IT developers to implement digital solutions;
  • Collaborate with R & D Compliance teams to ensure standardization of processes and efficiency gains for implementing enterprise IT solutions;
  • Develop and provide Stewardship related training to Biotech scientists;
  • Collaborate with Plant Biotech digital launch leads to ensure compliance workflows are prioritized, developed, tested, and fully functional for launch internally with the team as well as external collaborators;
  • Implement local Stewardship digital tools and contingency plans to supplement existing corporate data systems;
  • Ensure availability, maintain and further develop processes and tools to keep the business compliant with requirements of internal and external R&D Quality processes, partners and authorities;
  • Create and support agency permits for Plant Biotech R&D;
  • Set and apply state of the art R&D quality measures;
  • Communication of process relevant changes;
  • Ensure appropriate containment measures are in place to meet permit conditions and ensure no material is out of place;
  • Champion process improvement philosophies such as IMS, Lean, and Six Sigma;
  • Address compliance incidents, perform root cause analysis, and proactively mitigate process risks.

Required Qualifications:

 

  • Bachelor of Science degree or similar education;
  • 3 years of experience in a scientific or technical discipline such as Agronomy, Biology, Digital Science, etc.;
  • Good knowledge of R&D business practices and processes;
  • Project Management skills;
  • Strong interpersonal and good communication skills;
  • Project management experience with the ability to drive projects to completion while working under tight timelines;
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills;
  • Ability to work in a matrix environment, leading and influencing people at varying levels of responsibility;
  • Ability to excel in ambiguous environment; thinking objectively and leveraging information to develop corporate strategies and guidelines that effectively balances compliance and operations. 

 

 

Preferred Qualifications:

 

  • Proficient in Bayer’s enterprise data management and analysis software;
  • Experience with Compliance and/or Trait Quality;
  • Understanding of Regulatory processes such as permits, confined trials and laboratory compliance, and quality systems such as ISO 9001:2015.

 

 

 

Position will be located in Chesterfield, Missouri (St. Louis area) or any approved US Bayer Crop Science site.
